Heyman: less to be edited from Deathly Hallows film
Heyman: less to be edited from Deathly Hallows film A new interview with Daniel Radcliffe and producer David Heyman has been publised in Empire Magazine.

Dan talks about how refreshing Deathly Hallows part one is because it's always set in different places, and not just at Hogwarts. He also said, "I think for me, what's intimidating is going to be the walk at the end to meet Voldemort in the forest. That's going to be really tough, but I can't wait."

Heyman added what will probably be a relief for fans who want the films to be completely true to the books, "I think there'll be less edited from this film than films past because we have the freedom of making two films and I think it's going to be fantastic."

Scans are also online, thanks to our friends at DanRadcliffe.com: Dan & David 1 | Dan & David 2 | Dan & David 3 | Dan & David 4 | Trio 1 | Trio 2

Hopefully they blow us away with this film. I most certainly hope so. This is their LAST chance to get it right. Two 2 1/2 hour films would be enough time, so lets hope thats what they're shooting for.

Great news! I agree, the almost constant change in scenery will probably be "refreshing". I'm also really happy that the movie will be completely faithful to the book because with the other movies, the first time i watch them at the cinema i'm always kind of distracted by thinking about scenes they've changed or left out. ;D

Its very good and relieving that not very much will be edited from the movie, in the previos movies a lot has been edited even the story has been changed, so THEY FINALLY HAVE A CHANCE TO GET IT ALL RIGHT IN THE END. Two movies hopefully will do justice to the spirit of the book

I agree. Having the freedom to make two films will defiantly give them a bigger arena. I'm waiting to be pleasantly surprised. {Now give us Half Blood Prince already geez} : D

Posted by ginmo Apr 23rd 2009

FINALLY. It's going to be weird seeing a movie true to the book.

HEYMAN,I'LL MARK YOUR WORDS! Just tell your screenwriter Steve Kloves to not giving Ron's lines to Hermione and to stop making up on Ron's character as a dumb, stupid, and idiot instead of his bravery and loyalty to his friend. That's hurt me the most!

Posted by txRABbit Apr 23rd 2009

You know how the trailers all tended to have a character, usually Dumbledore, speak one lineatthe end? How about this for the trailer for Part one and/or two: Dan, as Harry, speaking the line "I am about to die." That was one of the best cliff hanging lines in the book.

Posted by slytherin_vix_88 Apr 23rd 2009

I can't wait! At least it'll end true to the story! I hope these films are the best of all of them! Gonna be soo sad for it to end!! :'(

Posted by PippinAndTheWimbles Apr 23rd 2009

Did anyone else notice Empire's error on Dan & David 4? "...Harry, Ron and Hermione huddle in the face of Voldemort's terrors in The Prisoner Of Azkaban". Voldemort isn't even in the 3rd book! I know I'm being picky, I was just wondering if I was the only one who saw it...

Posted by tonks654 Apr 23rd 2009

thats kinda weird that we're hearing stuff and seeing pictures of DH when HBP hasnt even come out yet!

Posted by sparklypancakes Apr 23rd 2009

F*CK YEAH! finallyyyy more true to the books! This makes me so excited! :D

Posted by Aroushka Apr 23rd 2009

That's really great news.....the book was amazing and it was a real relief to see that hardly much will be cut....hope they keep to their word!! :D

Hearing that not much will be edited makes me super happy!!! :D And hearing Dan talk about my favorite part in the book....the walk into the forest! I know he'll do awesome!! Yay!

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Apr 23rd 2009

YES! Like the differences they have made but this book is epic so any way would be BRILLIANT! I agree though, it's good to different sets!

YAHOO! This should come as a relief to ALL those Purists and hardcore Potter fans like myself :)... Deathly Hallows is TOO Good of a book to be Edited so much.. it's like the ONLY book where JK Rowling doesn't RAMBLE.

txRABbit: i like that idea! I wonder where they'll make the split between the two films? I've heard it'll be when Ron leaves, but I dunno if thats a definite. They've said the part that they've chosen is perfect... Reckon Ron's departures the perfect cliffhanger????

Posted by hooked_on_Harry Apr 23rd 2009

pippinandthewimbles.....y es....i noticed that too. and Dobby_09, i too get distracted looking for certain scenes. (from the trailers) i was very disappointed the first time i saw POA but then after the 3rd or 4th time i liked it. i am soo excited to hear that they are staying TRUE TO THE BOOK!!! i know every minute detail won't be there, but i'm hoping for about 90%!!!! Whenever i read the books, i always flash a movie in my head. Always wondering how something may have looked in the movie. And did i miss something or did they move DH part 2 from May to July? i thought it was May 2011.

Posted by phoenixknighter Apr 23rd 2009

no, it's July 2011...8 month gap... where were you hooked_on_Harry? Lol

Can't see them splitting at Ron leaving as that isn't very far into the book . Unless the have a shorter forst half and a longer second half so the audience can get into the movie before the battle , not only an hour and a bit ? Just thinking aloud out here

I want this magazine...I wonder when it goes on sale?! I LOVE how Deathly Hallows is so different from the other books...it's whole format is completely different. that has to be really refreshing for the actors! I still can't believe they're already making that movie. It feels like the book just came out! When did they catch up with the books?! And I'm loving the trio in that picture...especially Rupert! DANG he's Fine! And I love Dan's low cut shirt. lol. Emma's shoes are HOT...I want those!

Posted by ginnyfan24 Apr 23rd 2009

I wanna see it, and want it to be good. At the same time, I'll be sad. This is the end. =( Anyway, i HATE Dan's shirt. Eww! But everything else looks good.

Posted by DeathlyH Apr 23rd 2009

OMG! That pic of Dan... so sexy! World's sexies chest hair, ahoy! XD Seriously, I can't believe it's almost over. What'll happen to Mugglenet and Leaky and all the other HP sites? Will they close?

Posted by acciocaitlin Apr 23rd 2009

Rupert: 'I'm so proud to be representing Harry Potter and even prouder to be representing the gingers.' Classic!

Posted by MrPoe Apr 23rd 2009

Wow, on the trio pic, Radcliffe looks UGLY. And on the Dan and David 2, Radcliffe looks FAT. What has he done to himeself?

Posted by thepriori_incantatem Apr 23rd 2009

yoooooooohhhhoooo.:)) yea. good news guys!

Posted by phoenixknighter Apr 24th 2009

'What has he done to himeself?' Um.. He GREW MrPoe??? Seriously, you got a problem with someone becoming an adult, Peter Pan?

Posted by iwantorlando05 Apr 24th 2009

I don't know what Mr. Poe is talking about Dan is sexy!! I'm thinking they did this photoshoot around the time Dan was still doing Equus which is why he's got so much chest hair going on. lol. But I still think he looks good in both pictures! I think Rupert decided to wear his own shoes...so awesome!

Posted by apwbdsgirl Apr 24th 2009

I totally agree with chloe_fun! And they're going to have a lot of work cut out for them - not only are they going to have to include most of what's in the 7th book in order for it to make sense, they're also going to have to include 6 books worth of back story that they cut out that's necessary for the finale to make sense and be true to the spirit and style of the whole series. They've dug themselves a huge hole. But that's what happens when you hire a hack screenwriter who doesn't care at all for character consistency (and thus character motivation) or brilliant plot nuances.

@mr.poe: This is what real people look like, get over yourself.
