Photo of Dan and Rupert's first meeting
The Los Angeles Times posted a never-before-seen photo of Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, taken the day they first met. Producer David Heyman took that picture 9 years ago and he reflects on the Potter franchise and the trio in this interview.“I know they all will have great success in whatever they choose to do,” Heyman said at his Watford office, putting away his photo collection. “Emma is astonishingly bright. She is radiant and relaxed. Dan is extremely focused on his acting, and I have the fortune too to read his poetry and short stories, and there are some major poets who have written the most glowing, supportive things about his work. And Rupert — Rupert is the most natural comedian of the bunch. I think that he is like an old person in a young person’s body. He is a wonderful eccentric, a distinct original.”

I hope the next two films are better that HBP was.

I thought this movie was the best of all of them. Esspecially the acting from the trio (minus some plot wholes at the end, and corniness in the beginning) Also, I realllly want to see the video of Dan's initial auditon. I hope Emma and Ruperts are in there too. That's pretty cool :) And they were so little! haha

Adorable! It's surreal and already sad to think about the end of another part of the world of Harry Potter. I would LOVE to see all of the trio's audition tapes. And they'd be so perfect to conclude on the last DVD.

That was a very nice article. I hope when they release the entire series as a set (and you know they will), hopefully a director's cut set, they add in auditions and things like that.

Brill picture - instantly became my desktop background! That is a good idea for the closing credits of 7 pt 2. Also - I've also wondered whether a future relase of the Philosopher's Stone might include us seeing a current day Rupert in the Mirror when Ron views himself as Head Boy. What do you think? Too much perhaps?

Cute picture! They were so small! And they look like two old friends just having a nice walk - yet we know that they had only just met! It's so crazy to think that they didn't know how much their lives would change back then.

Makes me think of one of my favourite scenes in PS/SS: Ron gets the broom in the face when learning to use it, Harry laughs at him and he says: Shut up Harry!! It was so natural and adorable. FINALLY going to see HBP tonight...Yay!!! People really seem split on it. Hope I like it.
