Rupert Grint 'sad' about Potter franchise ending
In a shocking twist, the BBC has learned that Rupert Grint is sad that filming of the Potter franchise is coming to an end:He told Newsbeat: "I'm just trying to make the most of it really because it is going to end. I think it is going to be sad, but I'm ready to move on as well.
"At the moment we've got so much to do. Because it's two films it's going to take a year."
Rupert also talks briefly about his kiss with Emma:
He admitted that snogging Emma, who plays Hermione Granger in the movie, was a bit weird.
"We were dreading it to be honest, because we've grown up together and it just seemed wrong really," he said.
"It was fine. We just really believed we were Ron and Hermione and not Rupert and Emma and it was OK. It was only a few takes, so it didn't last long."
Thanks to Steven for the tip!

I will be incredibly devastated too. I mean Harry Potter has been more than half my life and I don't know what I will do without it. I was miserable when the book series ended but this will be just...depressing D: Hey Mugglenet, I'm new here by the way :)
well, its natural to feel like that when u have spent mostly ur entire life on the set. and we will also miss potter movies. no wait for the next part. :(
It is pretty sad, but it won't ever really end. I mean, the filming will be over, and the movies will all be out, but the whole phenomenon won't ever die. Not while us fans are still loyal to it. :)
Of course he will be sad... who wouldn't? I will be very sad. I cried when I got book 7, and at least then I had the comfort that the films were still coming...! sighhhhh. And haha it didn't last long because Harry tactlessly yells 'OI! There's a war going on here!' That was enjoyable.
How exactly is this a shocking twist?
I'm probably going to be bawling the day that they end shooting, if they notify us when they're planning to shoot the last scene. Obviously, the Harry Potter series will never truly end. Like Jo said, never say never. But it's going to be incredibly sad when I walk out of the theater after watching Deathly Hallows Part 2. I don't like to think about it, though, because we still have about two years left.
@thetrapezeswinger: I couldn't have said it better.
THERE's an attractive picture of Rupert... not...
I will cry after its all done. Harry Potter has been my little enjoyment out of life that has given me something to look forward too over the years.
Its extremely sad. I'll be devastated too.. @thetrapezeswinger: you couldn't have put it better. I totally agree with you. Though i don't understand what was shocking in this...? If you want SHOCKING news abt rupert go here and click on Kimaya.. www.hetalcb.dragonadopter s.com
You can already tell these are the questions people will be asking them all the time when DH part 1 is about to come out.
I'm gonna cry my eyes out when they finish filming. :( It will be the end of the Harry Potter decade, or a little more than a decade actually. Unless Jo releases the Scottish Book or otherwise decides to release something Potter-related some day, the two Deathly Hallows movies will be the last Harry Potter releases ever. It's already devastating enough to know that since the story sort of wrapped up in DH, there are no more canon stories of The Boy Who Lived coming out. :(
I agree with Mattrixed. Seriously? A shocking twist? For fun I've decided to list a few things that really are shocking: -Dan and Rupert are lovers -Emma has 11 toes -Snape isn't dead and He and Molly Weasley run off together. -Mugglenet decides that the whole Harry Potter thing is a bit blip and starts writing about True Blood instead - They've finished with DH filming, but part two gets eaten by a shark, WB decides to just end it with Part 1. (wouldn't put it past them) - Shark produces bootleg copy of DHpart2, gets sued and ends up making Gueness book of records for first lawsuit against an aquatic animal. sar
Not really "shocking", but anyway...
Think the journalist in Andrew just really wanted to use the phrase 'in a shocking twist....' ? I'm pretty sure that's a direct Rita Skeeter quote but damned if I can be bothered looking. Still, sad that Rupert's sad.
A shocking twist? Hardly shocking, but then I checked to see who posted it and wasn't surprised to see Andrew. Oh, leave it to Andrew to come up with a dramatic phrase for a post like this! How I love him so.
its a shocking twist that rupert is sad? how may i ask? of course hes sad! everyone who loves harry potter is sad. i know that the day deathly hallows part 2 comes out will definitely be bittersweet. i mean..i'll be so excited to see it..but once its over..i'll be devastated. no more harry potter books..no more harry potter movies. i mean..ive grown up with harry potter! ive loved it since i was like 7. and im graduating in 2011 too..so its like the end of an era for me. haha:]
Haha! Sorry, how exactly is this a shocking twist Andrew?!?!?! lol Anyone involved in the frachise would have to be MAD to not be sad when it ends, everyone has said they are! Nice journalism twist on it ;)
Of course everyone's sad! After watching the seventh film I'll cry for several days, and not just because of the abysmal eventual pairings (Neville/Hannah is truly hideous and everyone knows his true soul-mate is Luna!!!). As for the Ron-and-Hermione-kiss thing, going into rant mode *again* - the reason J.K. Rowling hates the Harry/Hermione ship is that "Harry and Hermione are like brother and sister," but so are Hermione and Ron! Seriously, them getting married is like incest. Sort of. Without the actually-being-related bit.
haha, "shocking twist?" I mean I think it's expected for him to be sad! We're all going to be sad... you can bet on that!
it's ok rupert. we are all said too :(
Lmao. "In a shocking twist"...Rupert says the same thing in every interview. I think sad is a bit of an understatement. It's going to be a lot more than just sad. And I wish people would stop saying it's going to end. It's not going to end. People will continue to read the books and watch the movies for years and years to come and the theme park will be there forever. So it's not going to end. We won't have any new books or movies, but the story will live on forever. *cue cheesy music*
I don't find that shocking...Haha I think everyone will be sad when it ends.
ouchhh!im veryy sorry indeeD too*!!its really saaD:( i do understand you i wish harry potter havnt got an end but course it has to:O we are all sad toooooo!!! X(
I do hope that all of these comments asking people how this is shocking news are just people joking - to me, it's pretty clear that Andrew was being sarcastic and making a point about how the BBC considers this particular "revelation" to be news-worthy. So yeah, nothing too huge here, although I do like how the trio constantly refer to how they've all grown up together... it has been about 10 years now, hasn't it? I'm 18 and haven't spent that long working so closely with any group of people in my life, I can imagine how they would almost seem like family by then. Hopefully they'll all stay in touch after the films are over, even if not all of them continue acting.
Gosh, i'm started boring about his "weird" comment on kissing Emma.Dan or Bonnie who also growing up together only mention H/G kiss is weird a few times and not very detail. Why did Rupert and Emma has to said it "weird" over and over?
@Chloe_fun ; I'm just making a guess here, but maybe because Rupert and Emma are wayy closer as friends. than Daniel and Bonnie.
How SHOCKING!!! Sad that its ending? Noooo :o
@Chloe_fun: Because I'm sure it WAS weird. Dan and Bonnie were not as close as Emma and Rupert are. Emma, Dan, and Rupert have been on set together since they 10 years old. Out of all the actors, those three spend the most time together so I'm sure it's very weird kissing someone you've known that long and haven't really had any romantic interest in. Dan and Bonnie said it was weird too, but the press have been asking Rupert and Emma about their kiss in pretty much every interview the do.
"shocking twist" haha, i think he was being sarcastic. but thinking about how the films will be over soon is so upsetting, i really hate thinking about it at all. it just reminds me of how depressed i was after reading seven and knowing that i'll feel that way again or worse. i'd rather just be in denial for a little longer.
awww im going to cry when i see the first trailer probably lol
I think i will cry when i go into the theater for Part 1, when i come out of the theater for Part 1. When i go into the theater for Part 2, and when i come out of the theater for Part 2.... But i'm really really really hoping and praying that the fandom will not end anytime soon. Because i've always been a huge hp fan, but i recently discovered Wizard Wrock and that alone has made me love the books more. It will truely be a depressing day all around the world when the final of the final movies gets released. But i also think that because of that, and because we love it so much the fandom will never stop. And people may call us crazy but i don't care. Everybody here should go to Sparknotes and read the article at the following link!!!!! http://community.sparkn otes.com/2009/08/20/will- our-grandkids-read-harry- potter i'm Luna_Loo :)
Me too! I'm sad too! : (
I will really miss it too. Jo Rowling provided a great escape from very stressful events in my life. Without a fun world to runaway to for a little while and then begin writing my own fanfics (unpublished though) for my own personal therapy as reality crumbled around me...well, let's just say this is why I am such an avid reader of Mugglenet and love to chat about it. I also miss the regular Mugglecast and wish they would come up with some type of new series to get them on the air more frequently. How about read the books again from the beginning with a Multi Chapter by Chapter? Just something, please!!! Mugglecast let me escape too...thanks to the fantastic hosts.
WoW. Thats kinda weird. Cause my name is Emma, and Im in love with Ron(No not Rupert, just Ron) And Rupert who plays Ron, kissed Emma... Weird, really.
He's not the only one who is going to be sad! I am going to be absolutely DEVASTATED when it ends. I will lay down and just... have a silent fit of hysteria. I honestly won't be able to take it when I get home from the cinema after seeing Deathly Hallows Part 2. I'll crack up inside the head. Harry Potter has been with me more than 3 quarters of my life. I won't be able to take it in when it ends. I actually reckon I will be depressed for some time. I mean, Harry Potter taught me how to read... it taught me that books are enjoyable... the movies have made me sooo happy... the books... my favourite ever. I looked forward to them like millions of other people and rejoiced when they were released... it's been such a wonderful adventure. And now it's ending? What will I do? The whole Harry Potter legacy has made me so happy. I'm 15 years old and I have been a Harry Potter fan for ages... I have been visiting MuggleNet for ages... years and years and years and years... I've been following everything for so long... I don't want it to end :'(
I think he was being sarcastic about the whole "in a shocking twist..." thingy. But anyway, it'll be sad when the last film comes out, but people should be happy as well. Other generations can only IMAGINE what it was like growing up with Harry Potter. We'd be the first people to see the first Deathly Hallows Pt 2 (cause there'd probably be a re-make) and it's going to be as big as Star Wars for sure. I'm excited for it :)
i can already imagine myself crying while walking out of the theatre after seeing deathly hallows part 2. i don't know how that would feel. that would be extremely devastating and i'm not emotionally ready fot it. seriously. we feel the same way rupert.
it is so not a "shocking twist!" haha everyone is going to be upset...cast and really anyone in the fandom! its perfectly natural to be upset. it took up his whole life! i am going to be bawling my eyes out!!! i know they will be too!!
Harry Potter is what this generation's going to be remembered for. Just like the 80's are remembered for Michael Jackson. We'll be able to tell our kids about those release parties we went to, the craziness of the HP phenomonom and how it reintroduced a whole generation of reading. HP will never truly die. Star Wars ended 4 years ago yet people haven't forgotten Yoda, Luke, Darth Vader and Anakin. Harry Potter will be remembered by people who read the books, people who only played the games or watched the movies and by us people who did everything. Sorry for the cheesiness but it's true. Nobody will forget about Harry, Hermione, Ron, Snape, Dumbledore, and the rest of the characters.
Don't think this was really 'post worthy'. After nearly a decade of Potter, he's sad about it all ending. ORLY?
When you are having fan is really sad when something ends, I think is not only to all the people in the movies andthe fans too. HP series some children grow up with Harry and some adults too. But life goes on and there is something to remember about all this sometimes things need tio end to see the good of them and to have a good knowledge about them.
"A circle has no beginning."
"a shocking twist?" what? why would that be shocking? i'm sure everyone's sad! it would be more shocking if he said he was elated it was ending...duh
I suppose nobody has figured out that "In a shocking twist" is meant to be sarcastic?
oh, well, I'm terrible with sarcasm. but on a random note: i feel like wb will delay deathly hallows 1 to summer '11 and then 2 to summer '12 because they always seem to do that
Pretty hard to detect sarcasm over text. This post was poorly written.
aw, LOVE U RUPERT! it is sad, really it is:(
you know news is slow when we hear that rupert grint is "sad".
