Thats great, David Yates is taking a different approach to the kissing scene.... It's a sensitive scene and needs to be tackled properly. But what about that "gap in the middle"? They should've filmed other sequences during that time.

That's one of the best interviews we've had for the movie so far, I would say. Although I'm a little nervous about Yates saying this movie will be much more "emotional" than the others. "Emotion" was quite a disaster in the Prisoner of Azkaban movie...Step up Dan, please!

I can't wait for this movie. Maybe it'll be better then GoF? Who knows, but I'm just so excited!!

awesome interview! especially since it's been a pretty slow summer in terms of Potter news and interviews. Other than JK in New York, there hasn't really been anything. But in the article they said Yates was the first British director. Isn't he the second? I thought Newell was British too.

Well... at least stopping in the middle gets them in the mindframe to act out the OWL scenes

Not to mention... If this movie is going to be as... "emotional" as the PoA movie (which I loathed, because it was my favorite book and the adaptation ruined the emotional content of the book)... I'm just hoping for more scenes with Dan crying! Come on, if he can't act it out well, at least we'll have something to laugh at!

I agree with you lemondrop89--Newell is British meaning Yates is the second Brit to direct and they used the name "Jenny" instead of Ginny. The interviewer did not research the subjects well and probably wasn't a fan. Oh well--regardless, good interview and can't wait for the film!

Great article! I loved all the in-depth info. I'm very much looking forward to this film. The author's slip ups are a tad funny, but it's true that any journalist should research their topic, especially when it's as popular as Harry Potter.

The gap in the filming had already been taken into account long before they issued a release date for the film, so no it will not impact the release date. hb

Well, besides the fact that I really don't like Cho and I like Katie Leung even less ... While we all know Harry and Cho kiss in book 5 -- it's interesting to note that Jo doesn't actually say it in so many words. There is no "Harry and Cho kissed" -- it's just Harry telling R/Hr (aww, what a beautiful pairing) that it was wet. *grump*
