Harry Potter: The Exhibition Boston Preview
UPDATE: 83 beauitful, high-res photos from the exhibit can now be seen starting right here!Deathly Hallows notes from the fansite Exhibition interview with Matt Lewis:
- Matt has the script for Part 2 and will begin shooting next week.
- "The scale of it is enormous," he says of Part 2.
- Neville is "a bloody and battered resistance leader - a battle hardened veteran."
The East Coast premiere of Harry Potter: The Exhibition opens in Boston, MA on Sunday October 25, 2009. MuggleNet staff member Kat was able to preview the Exhibition this afternoon and also attended a roundtable discussion with actor Matthew Lewis.
We learned that Matt goes back to work for Deathly Hallows next week and will be filming the final battle scenes soon.
Matt also said that after seeing his own dancing shoes in the exhibition he recalled a scene that had been cut from filming in Goblet of Fire...
"I can't dance. They told me Neville is a good dancer. My partner was Bonnie, Ginny Weasley, and we learned the waltz. Which wasn't too difficult, I was okay with the waltz. You follow it back, to the side, back, to the side. That's easy, I can do that. Then we had to learn a tango. Now you see the other guys, like Dan & Rupert, they were fine because they were told they were supposed to be rubbish. It was supposed to be uncomfortable. Neville however was supposed to look like Fred Astaire. And so we did this tango, and we spent months on this tango and you know I have got two left feet. It was totally embarassing and Bonnie was probably cringing herself, but she was pretty good. And then we never even shot it, we never even did it. We never even got around to filming it. So that reminded me, with the dancing shoes."

Oooh Exciting!
Too bad that Matthew feels that he can't dance. And too bad that the scene was never filmed. He probably dances better than he thinks and it would have been a hoot to see everyone being so shocked at Neville's grace and poise.
i hope it comes to philly or nyc!
I wish We can easily travel to Boston, so we can experience this HP Exhibition that happened once in a lifetime
that's funny, about the tango...poor matt, it sounds like it was a lot of work and nerve-wracking. oh well. it would've been nice if they had filmed it though, even if it just ended up in the deleted scenes. it's a funny scene in my mind, anyway.
Did I make a mistake or did someone else make a mistake? I just saw screencaps from the movie HBP. I thought they were going to show photos from the exhibition.
oooh do you know how cool that would be to be right there in front of the ACTUAL stuff they use in the films and know that it's the same one that all the actors used and stuff? too cool. hope it comes my way =)
@merrymarge Don't Click the Bottom Link, Just Click the "Next photo" link that you can see on Top of the image.
Im going to the HP exhibit on Saturday. It looks awesome!
awwww how disappointing for matt, but at least now he'll know how, dancing is a good skill for a man to have and you never know when it will come in handy.
LMAO! That's hilarious about the dancing! I love the part in GOF when it shows Neville dancing by himself in the common room though. I really want to go to the exhibit in Boston! I wonder if they've expanded it at all! I don't even care...I just want to go! It looks bloody BRILLIANT!
It looks amazing! But it makes me sad because all that stuff is in the museum because they don't need it for the films anymore...:(
I live so close to this...and I want to go - but this weekend it will be packed! I think I'll save it for next week, when nobody cares anymore...
I saw the exhibition in Chicago, and I absolutely loved it! The only bad thing is no photography allowed...then they charge $30 for the souvenir book. I thought that was a complete ripoff, especially when I looked through the book and saw that the pictures were not that good.
LOL... "battle hardened veteran" I can't wait... I love Neville in general, but he kicks butt in the last book, sooo can't wait for the decapitation of Nagini :) yey Neville!
I agree with Alem. Looking forward to the decapitation of Nagini. Slash, Neville, Slash away!!
Thanks Pinoy Deatheater. I went back and I saw all the photos! AH, I wish it was coming to Phoenix, AZ. The exhibition looks great!
This is so exciting ! I wish I could go. :( Too bad the scene was never filmed. It seems funny though. Now I can't wait to see Neville in DH !
Awe, he's so cute! Now I'm just wondering...who took the pictures? Cause I went in Chicago and we weren't allowed to take pictures of anything!!! If they changed that, I want to go out to Boston.
The cast, I mean all of them, seem so sweet and down-to-earth. Its nice to hear that they all get along. Exhibition sounds cool too!
wow, i need to go!!!!!!!!!! it seems AMAZING!!
LOL, Neville is SUPPOSED to be a bad dancer! Can't wait to go to the Exhibition!!! The gift shop looks fantastic! LOL, and the props and costumes, of course!
the exhibit sounds amazing. the local dj on the radio said she went and saw matt walk by. she also explained that if you were ANY sort of HP fan it was well worth the trip. I may think about going on Vet's day holiday. But it does sound like the souvenier book is a bit much! thanks for that bit of info!
anyone else having problems viewing some of the photos? there is about 10 pics I couldn't see & then I just gave up. I love the "souvenier" shop!!! All the items are great. Love that they have the tri wizard cup and some of the proclamations from OotP!!
Yay for Neville. We all get to see why he was put in Gryffindor!
IN GOING!!! lol I live on the Cape so me and my friend are going Thursday!! I'm soo excited too lol
