Hedwig's Theme tops list of children's favorite tunes
Hedwig's Theme tops list of children's favorite tunes The Press Association is reporting that Hedwigs Theme, originally composed by John Williams for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, tops Classic FM's 'Children's Hall of Fame':

Smith, 14, who was co-hosting the show with Anne-Marie Minhall, said: "I'm thrilled that Classic FM has decided to create such a platform for their younger listeners. The Harry Potter theme is definitely one of my favourites."

Classic FM has almost half a million listeners under the age of 18 and is releasing an album of Children's Classics to tie in with the countdown on November 23.

Thats cool, but anyone else want nicholas hooper to create the score for deathly hallows?? :S :D

I really liked what Nicholas Hooper did with his scores, but I would still much rather have John Williams do DH. I think that having him at the beginning and the end of the whole series would make all of the movies come together more, and I think that John Williams could do a nice combination of new more intense themes as well as incorporating Hedwig's Theme really well- I mean, he actually wrote it, so he could definitely change it up and use it in really cool ways.

Hmm i guess so, i just really liked the way that nicholas hooper's intro for HBP got me, it sounds so cool and makes you feel sad that the series of films is nearly over :S Either way here's looking forward to DH!

I love Hedwig's Theme. My band teacher was playing it by ear on her flute the other day and I was the only one in the room who recognized it. So typical. I thought that was funny. I'm glad John Williams is coming back for DH!

It's one of my favorites. BTW, in the United States, the name of the movie is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and that is what we are going to call it.

Awesome! Hedwig's theme is my absolute favorite. It's the perfect score the magical Harry Potter series. John Williams is a genius. Without his score we wouldn't have all the other brilliant soundtracks from the composers that followed him (Patrick Doyle and Nicholas Hooper) because they all built their scores from the original Hedwig's theme.

John Williams is amazing... I've made sure that all my music students know his name & can recognize his music :) Is it confirmed that he is returning for the final 2 movies? Where do I find that information? Thanks!

Posted by phoenixknighter Nov 2nd 2009

GillyweedGG.. I don't know about that, but one thing that's for SURE is that Nicolas Hooper won't be returning for DH.. he said it's time that he leaves and be with his family. So he's willing to give off the mantle to anyone else... John Williams did express interest on returning though

Oh yeah, sorry, when I said I was glad he was returning, I meant I'm glad John Williams MIGHT be returning for DH, and I hope he does.
