JKR may return to MS Society Scotland, says Society rep
The Scotsman is reporting today that a rep for MS Society Scotland believes JK Rowling may return as a patron if an upcoming vote makes the Society independent again:A special general meeting will this weekend hear the results of a ballot, including a resolution proposing the society in Scotland becomes independent.
Bill Findlay, a former chairman of the MS Society Scotland, said he believed that if the charity could start again as an independent body, Rowling would return as patron.
Visitors may remember that JK Rowling announced in April she was stepping down from her position in the Society after she could not "in good conscience, continue to be the public face of a charity that is changing beyond recognition from the one with which I have been so proud to be associated."

Well, that's good. JKR loves her philanthropy, and that is a good cause. What were they doing that she didn't want to be associated with them?
Well as long as the change is for the better then I'm sure JK Rowling won't hesitate to give it her full support once again. Clearly the changes they made in the first place was not a good idea or they wouldn't be thinking about becoming an independent society once again.
Why did she leave in the first place?
I think she left because they started making a lot of changes and she didn't agree with them.
No, really?
You've been working with an organization for years, very happy with the plans, results, people. Then someone new appears and changes everything to the point of "why am I bothering with this?" You feel like an outsider. It's time to find something else to support. After reading the article from April, I can totally identify with J.K.Rowlings position about the "Changed" organization. I've been there and done that. With luck, the changes now in progress will allow her to return to a cause so dear to her heart. And to people she has enjoyed working with. Best wishes Jo.
