No Weasley is our King storyline in OOTP
Bad news for those who are looking forward to a good grudge match in the Order of the Phoenix film next summer! We've been informed that there is no storyline in the movie surrounding Ron's Quidditch hardships, nor has there been any filming on broomsticks done by Rupert. We're led to believe that this means there will be no Quidditch in the fifth film at all. We hope to learn more soon!

Posted by bandgurle512 Aug 26th 2006

that's not cool

Posted by Romilda Aug 26th 2006

top 5?? NO QUIDDITCH??? Well, I suppose they had to give up something, but come on people... really...

Posted by shezzypants Aug 26th 2006

I was looking forward to someting like that. Drats, that sucks. I wonder what else they're going to cut now. I just hope it's not when Fred and George leave.

Posted by Patronus Aug 26th 2006

that's not cool.

Posted by EiSeL Aug 26th 2006

wait, that means no ron/hermione kiss! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by mandi Aug 26th 2006

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!? WHY????

Posted by AlwaysOnTheRun Aug 26th 2006

That's disappointing. I'd like to see more subplots included, it was a shame that S.P.E.W. was lost in "Goblet of Fire." I wouldn't doubt that "Goblet of Fire" was the last time we'll ever see Quidditch included in the movies.

Posted by jmcd314 Aug 26th 2006

its sad but understandable. ootp is almost 900 pages! theres no way they could fit all the subplots into the movie! oh well, as long as they have the voldemort/dumbledore showdown and the scene where dumbledore jinxes all teh aurors and umbridge and fudge and flees!

Posted by 1crookshanks1 Aug 26th 2006

NOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY???

Posted by person92 Aug 26th 2006

Ah man, I liked Ron playing quidditch.

Posted by ArmlessPenguin Aug 26th 2006

How are they going to get Harry in detention if there's no Quidditch?

Posted by Mollie8391 Aug 26th 2006

Oh that's annoying... I really like that storyline... hopefully there's at least some Quidditch because that's sort of important to the story, isn't it? Or at least it's a gigantic factor in Harry hating Umbridge even more and part of the coolness of Fred & Georges departure... maybe they just haven't gotten around to filming the Quidditch scenes yet.... LET'S BE HOPEFUL EVERYON!!! (top 10?)

Posted by luna_lupin7 Aug 26th 2006

Not cool at all!!! Poor Rupert and Ron, they're treated like their storylines mean nothing!!!

Posted by AdrianTresk Aug 26th 2006

Well, they DID tell us that there wouldn't be any more Quidditch in the movies, ergo, no kings or queens of any kind when it comes to Quidditch ... I just hope they have Fred and George's escape flight. Sure I'm a little dissapointed that they're not doing Quidditch anymore but I'm just hoping that they'll make up for it in another area somewhere.

Posted by looneylovebad Aug 26th 2006

ugh ugh ugh no fair!!! ootp is the best book and they are butchering the film! they are so not catering to hp fans! they should just make it ten hours long i wouldnt complain!

Posted by iheartmugglecast Aug 26th 2006

How could they. HOW DARE THEY!!! That is one of the best lines. I mean, it shows predujice... isn't that how Harry gets kicked off the team! Ooooh... come on, Warner Bros!!!

Posted by dobbysox Aug 26th 2006

man, thats like a big part of harry's school year but they probably just cut quidditch because umbridge bans it from him anyway.

Posted by ilvdr Aug 26th 2006

NUH UHH!!!!! THEY CANNOT OMIT THAT! How will they segway into the Grap plot (provided there is one, anyway!) and how will they explain to Ron why Harry and Ginny went into the forest when Ron didn't do anything that would've made him unable to go now that they've omitted the Quidditch plotline?!?! THIS IS MADNESS!!!!

Posted by Alexa_Riddle Aug 26th 2006

Whaaaat? you know what I say? I say we start hate mailing! yeaaaah! ihy wb. ihyihyihy. D:

I'm going to stay in my happy world and pray this is some sick joke of Warner Brothers.

Posted by quidditch_girl93 Aug 26th 2006

WAT? I loved that part in the book! and I totally agree with ilvdr! and quidditch plays a pretty big part in the 5th book, doesnt it? OOOHHHH this makes me mad!

Posted by Weasley_Is_My_King Aug 26th 2006

Awww, that's dissapointing. I'm sure the movie will still be fantastic but I was looking forward to seeing Rupert on a broom. :[

Posted by PotterChickFoSho Aug 26th 2006

thats ridicualous! thats the part i was most looking forward to!

Posted by orcaboy321 Aug 26th 2006

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! That's like cancelling the Superbowl! (for those of us who actually CARE about the superbowl, which I don't). It's simply just not done! That was one of the most humorous parts of OOTP! GRRRRRRRRR.

Posted by LindaW Aug 26th 2006

NOOO! I wanted to see Ron flying AND beating Cho! They were 2 of my favorite parts of the book!

Posted by katetate Aug 26th 2006

Well, that sucks. I'm really surprised but I guess OOTP was a really large book. There didn't seem to be enough plot to leave out Quidditch though but I guess there must be. Sigh. I'm beginning to worry about this being a good movie again.

Posted by Weazley_is_MY_King Aug 26th 2006

ARRRGGGHH! Screw the movies . . . >:( I hate 'em. That's like, the best part!!! (Well, not really, but i Lurve ron!)

ARRRGGGHH! Screw the movies . . . >:( I hate 'em. That's like, the best part!!! (Well, not really, but i Lurve ron!)

Posted by tabitoo Aug 26th 2006

Bloody 'ell !!!!

Posted by longbottom Aug 26th 2006

:( thats my favorite part of the story and i agree with everyone i would've loved to see rupert on a broom ughh now i have to find something else to look forward too

Posted by samwise_potter Aug 26th 2006

that is so stupid!!! I can understand why they cut it out, but I STILL don't know the tune to "weasley is our king". GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I love quidditch. You'll be hearing from me, WB!

Posted by hottfaja Aug 26th 2006

I wonder if M knight would have included quidditch.... I don't really care, I won't miss it....I would like to have heard the song at least once though

Posted by MinervaMoon Aug 26th 2006

It's pretty obvious that the filmmakers have rather more important things to put in the film than a Quidditch match. It's already in the books, for God's sake. Why do you guys need the film to copy every single aspect of the novels when all you have to do is READ them?

Posted by Lady_Delphinea Aug 26th 2006

aww... that sucks! i want some quidditch considering book 6 is the last we will see of it! and weasley is our king song is like.... well one of rons best story lines! this better be wrong!

Posted by EloquentPhoenix Aug 26th 2006

*Le sigh* I would be annoyed, but the films have aways been a let down, so as this is of no surprise I have no way of becoming properly annoyed by it. But I suppose it is a very non-essential plotline for a film. It's just a pity when they miss out the essential plotlines too...

Posted by radcliffe Aug 26th 2006

that sucks!....this sooooooooooo not cool...what so ever! :0!

Posted by joanna Aug 26th 2006

I was looking forward to seeing Ron manuever a broom. I hope they DO NOT cut out Fred and George's "swamp scene" at the end!! How do you contact Warner Bros.?

Posted by bringon22 Aug 26th 2006

Dammit to Hell! dont tell me that the 3rd movie is the last damn movie to have some quidditch!!!!!!!!!

Posted by katetate Aug 26th 2006

That is true. I don't know why we're acting as if the movies have always been stellar and we're now surprised when they do stuff like this. They've been pulling this crap for years. This is actually the usual order of business and they know we'll still pay our money to go watch so it's not a big deal to please the fans.

Posted by ericfangirl Aug 26th 2006

Well, that sucks quite royally. I am pretty TO-ed. I was highly anticipating hearing the song Weasley Is Our King and seeing Rupert on a broomstick. Let's hope that this doesn't become much bigger in the seventh book, even though I doubt it will. ... I need some chocolate.

Posted by Colonna Aug 26th 2006

I guess something had to get cut to make room for this idiot directors "Thames Broomstick Chase" scene.

Posted by KikiPotter Aug 26th 2006

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Curse that dumb dirtor and writer!!!! They are slowly movie by movie ruining HP!!!!!! I want Steve cloves! I want chris colmbus!! I agree with bringon22!!!!They are going to pay for this!!!

Posted by EloquentPhoenix Aug 26th 2006

But of course, now I think about it, this has probably only been cut to add some random thing they've made up that's apparantly funny/entertaining/makes it better. Whatever. Like those animal sweet things in GoF. Like the dragon chase around the castle. Bleh. I can cope with cuts, as long as they don't add something made up. And there isn't a chance in hell of that happening. Because that would make the films good for fans of the books. And what the hell is with this page? It's really irritating to have it so long, I'm sure that really long 'No' was so unecessary.

Posted by Nameless Aug 26th 2006

NOOOOOO!!!! I was looking forward to that. Oh well. I'll live. Even though my favorite scenes continue to be cut out.

Posted by Ctgate12 Aug 26th 2006

NO!!! They can't DO THAT! It's not Harry Potter without Quidditch! Am I right?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
