My problem isn't with them cutting out quidditich - which I personally feel sucks, but whatever - it's the fact that these movies just keep getting worse. Was ANY HP fan completely in love with movie four? I sure wasn't. From the horrible actor they have playing Dumbledore attacking Harry, to the ridiculous dragon scene, to them wearing muggle clothes all the freaking time.. it was HORRIBLE. They jsut keep straying farther and farther from the plot of these books. It isn't about cutting a scene here or 'trying to fit it all in ebcause it's a big book' it's about them losing sight about what the HP books really are to us fans. They're trying to make money off them, not make quality movies. They know they can put out any piece of dung and people like us will still go to see them. I myself though, am a huge fan of book five and I don't want to see this movie already... if it's anything like that piece of garbage Goblet of Fire movie. Books forever. And Weasley is our king is one of the best scenes. If they cut out the fred and george exit, there WILL be a riot lol.

Im a diehard bookfan and i hate how they destroy the books in the movies. they just keep getting worse. everyone says they love gof, but how could they? they cut all the funny parts and always wear muggle clothes. i think there was only one scene where they wore robes, and even then, it didnt look very wizardly.

indiejane: I totally agree with you! I have been saying how awful the fourth movie was for some time now, and it's nice to actually hear from someone who feels the same! I really wonder how they will accomplish the scene in which Fred and George escape, and Harry being Quiddich captain next year when they have cut out Quiddich completely? It was like the Winky-Dobby-SPEW thing in the last movie: they managed to get around it, but at the sacrifice of too much, in my opinion. I greatly prefer the books as well, and would be delighted if eventually someone else (maybe a true HP fan) decided to make the movies again, better and truer to the books, no matter how long they are!

that so stupid! i hate what they are doing with all of the movies. They are taking out important parts in the story! number 5 was my favorite book because of all the whole story, this movie is going to be a huge dissapointment. i know that they have to take out some stuff, but they shouldnt take out the really good things that add to the story.

This is just like when the house elf storyline was taken out of GOF. I wonder why they took it out, it means so much to the story as a whole, especially since Harry was made captain of the Quidditch Team... or will they keep that in Movie 5????

Eh, it's not exactly central to the plot. They have made worse cuts, like the whole flippin' back story in PoA. I have to laugh at how they managed to keep the pencive scene with James, large portions of which will not even make sense after the cuts in the third movie.

They wouldn't even have to show any Quidditch, they could at least acknowledge that Ron is playing it, and so on. If there's no mention of him playing it at all then...I'm highly disappointed. :(

Jeez, i can understand some things. But Quidditch, no. That really stinks. I want that in so much. Its not Hp with out Quidditch.

Here is yet another example of why the movies are corporate, commercialized crap. The best Quidditch story in the series is completely axed, no doubt so that they'll have more time to devote to Harry and Cho's relationship, which will probably be expanded from how it was in the book. Maybe someday, decades from now when Harry Potter is retro and those of us who read it when it was new are much older, they will release GOOD movies that actually do the books justice. THe ones that are out now just suck.

That Sucks! Most of the storyline is based around quidditch in the 5 book! Harry, Fred and George can't play because of Umbridge. And Fred and George get their brooms back at the end from the book by summoning them out of her office! That means there will be NO Peeves again in this movie because of them. No Giving Umbridge hell this book And there will be no kiss between Ron and Hermione!!

its things like this that give me this image in my head of the producers sitting around a table and discussing what else they can to to take away from the film. "if we cut quidditch, we can force the spotlight back to dan and emma, screw over the next director even more, and if we're lucky, add something stupid about glow in the dark shoelaces!"

Personally, I dont really care that Quidditch isnt in the movie because I never really cared for the Quidditch scenes because thay werent always interesting. Plus they are time consuming and the fifth book is full of important information that it wouldnt be wise to add info that isnt a necessity. They need to save time for the ending, if they put every detail in a movie then we would be watching thirteen hour movies. I applaud, wise descision.
