ya, now that i think about it, im not surpised thatthey cut out 1 of my fave scenes. they've done that for the past 2 movies. o well....i guess i just expected more of a harry potter movie

I understarnd it, I can live without Quidditch, it's not one of the most important point sof the book, there are more important things. So, I don't care very much, even Jo said she doesn't enjoy writting the quiddith scenes.

grrr! i hate it when they do this! they always cut things out because they say it'd make the movie too long. make the movie based on the book, and cut it for the movie theatres. i would rather watch a 6 hour movie that has everything from the book in it than these stupid shortened ones that slash the books in half. grrr, why do you let them do these, Rowling??

as much as I love quidditch, I'd prefer it to be cut out and longer fight scene in the end. But I was hoping for the Fred George departure and the fight that causes the brooms to be taken away. Maybe they'll just show an aftermatch with the fight or pre-quidditch and then the fight occurs...

Oh, that is so WB! They are SO undetailed. The kick ALL the good parts out. And I don't think they really care on what the fans think. They just do whatever the Bloody Hell they want. You know, sometimes I feel like I know more about the story then they do. This is just SO annoying!! I love Wealsey is our king and then at the Quidditch House Cup Match the Gryffindors changed it. You know, I would love to come out of a Harry Potter movie satisfied. And do I? No. A lot of us don't. The Potter movies are always disapointing. They could do a three and a half movie like LOTR. That was a giant success. They could even do Extened version like Narnia and LOTR, but no. No let's just make all the Harry Potter fans miserable. And you could speed up the process a bit. The actors sometimes say it takes up to two to three week for one scene. Come one! And then you say, "Oh we're so detailed". Piff! Yeah right! Your just Slow! Argh!!! This is annoys me to no end! Curse you WB! Argh!!!!!

Wait, why pretend it's a magical school any longer since they hardly use their wands, don't wear dress robes, or school robes. Just turn it into the OC and have done with it.

I think this is good, this means they will spend time with really important scenes, quidditch is not important. The only important part is Umbrige expelling Harry of the team, I hope they can include that in other way. But other than that, I think it's a very good decision. We have seen enough quiddich, I want to see new things. And it's very expensive to do those scenes, so they can spend that money to do cooler things, like theatrals, giants, centaurs, Kreacher, cool spells...

just another reason NOT to see the movie.

What? Then I guess they won't include the Quidditch bans for Harry, Fred and George. And THAT means that they won't inlucde the Fred George leaving scene (or maybe they will and not include Quidditch, I guess they could do that too), because that scene was one of the best parts of the book.

Well, OotP is a very long story and I wouldn't expect anything less than for them to cut it. It really isn't important at all to the plot. It's just excess fat, and the film - for obvious reasons - has to be trim and slim. I honestly don't know why all of you get so worked up over these things! How could you not see it coming? First of all, in interviews with Heyman and Yates both have said that the only quidditch in the film will be with some kids fooling around in the background of some courtyard scene. Also, there have been much more pivotal things cut before now.

PLEASE put a spoiler warning on news like this! I like the movies to be a surprise.

THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!! Ron's quidditch playing offers the valuable comedic relief this movie needs, not to mention, every fan would love to sing "Weasley is our KING"! How can they deprive us of the most important turning point in Ron's life, (this would be the perfect way to add in some more R/Hr moments) as well as the chance to see Rupert play quidditch? This is preposterous...we should start a petition or something, after all they said they would cut out the yule ball in the fourth movie and then they ended up putting it in, so my fingers are crossed!

All of us have our favorites scenes, they can not include all of those scenes in a movie, even a 4 hours movie. People should be mature and try to understand this. They can not include everything, and everyone has a different opinion about what is more important, or what should be included, so they can not satisfy everyone.

canarycream23, I'm a HP fan and I don't agree with you, so please, don't talk in the name of all HP fans. ;) I think there are more important things to include in this movie that Rupert in a broom. In fact, I think Ginny playing Quidditch is even more important. And the plot about Harry and the twins being expelled, that's the only important thing I think they should have included related with Quiddich. And I think, in these books all the characters have a great sense of humor, not only one. We know they have included the prefect plot, so I think that's enough to show R/Hr moments or a turning point in Ron's life. And there is still movie 6 to show all of them playing quidditch.

quidditchplayer, you're absolutely right, I shouldn't have included you in my generalization :) However, it is the mindset similar to yours that undermines the role that characters other than the hero mean to a book or movie. By constantly cutting out memorable moments such as "Rupert on a broom" as you so tactfully put it, WB is forgetting that the magic of the HP books didn't just rely on Harry's journey but on these other side plots as well. Judging from the response of other fans on the comments board, it might be safe to say that quite a few ppl are upset by this. Ron and quidditich goes beyond comedy, as is pretty obvious "many" fans feel this omission is unfair. As for Ginny playing quidditch, it's no more important than Ron playing, but I guess it's a difference of opinion! BTW, MrsRoonilWazlib...I totally agree with you!!!!!!!!!

that's insane. i really was looking forward to seeing ron play quiddich in this film. how do they plan on getting fred and george expelled and their brooms being locked up? i was so looking forward to the scene. not to mention draco's harassing of ron and harry in this book is so profound and i was really looking forward to hating the draco character. i'm upset.
