I suppose I'm not too surprised, but I would have loved part of the Quidditch storyline in the film. It wouldn't give us the same Ron that we had in the books, but I realized with a two and a half hour movie of an 870 page book, there are going to be some MAJOR cuts and changes. :(

I feel like they always leave out quidditch! And if they do put it in it's all drama between malfoy and harry which takes away from the game. It stunk in the 3rd movie because the 3rd book has the best quidditch

(after all, even though im against h/hr, in GOF she kissed harry after the 2nd task even though they cut out her kissing him at the end of the book) sooo..... i think they will still find a way to put it in somehow.

Surely we've known about this for a while. After all, it's just about the only thing that we've heard nothing about in the Ootp production. We know about the Dursleys, the Dementor scene, Grawp, the Centaurs, the DA, Harry and Cho kiss, Ministry, Inquisitorial Squad, Trelawny class, Snapes Worst Memory and much more but no mention of Quidditch. Also, I'm sure we had the question 'is there going to be Quidditch' answered by someone. If anything needed to be cut out it was Quidditch. Well, I would have cut Grawp but he MUST end up being important.

That's odd, and absolutely disapointing but honestly, every movie changes something - more or less, that we want in/a certain way. We've just got to accept the changes and hope for the best. That's why the books are better, and always have been. :)

WHAT!!!! That is such a bad idea to not have. I was really looking forward to those scences, because I thought the whole Weasley is Our King storyline was awesome, and the song was [[mean but]] funny. Rawr...what are they going to cut next?

By the way, there's a chance they will include some of Ron's Quidditch story in the HBP movie. Quidditch will certainly be back in that movie, there's just no room for it in Ootp.

Hmm...OotP is my least favorite book (SO. MUCH. ANGST), so for once (and I mean that sincerely), I don't really care what they cut out, just so long as it's not Umbridge. She was horrible...in a good, what-a-great-writer-JK-is sort of way, because she was a very well made character.

I too am disappointed. No Luna's Lion Hat. No Ron-Hermione peck on the cheek. No cool song. I don't personally care about Quidditch and it is sorta boring but I love all the things relating to it in OotP. How are they going to bring it back up for Movie 6?! (Oh yeah viewers, Ron is the keeper now for no apparent reason!) riddle me that. And if its not in HBP then fans can say goodbye to Luna's commentating and the Felix Felicis scene which I think says a lot about Ron. PS: Rupert is an awesome actor and should, nay deserves a great storyline and not have all his best scenes cut out or best lines given to Emma.

I really hope this news is not true -- but if it is, I hope WB would re-think this and decide to shoot even just a short scene showing Ron's winning moment as Harry and Hermione comes out of their forest interlude with Grawp -- I think that doesn't take much -- just a few seconds -- just the crowd singing and Ron descending to the ground to the Gryffindor team's joyous celebration! Okay, seriously, I should be scriptwriting OotP -- I'm sure a lot of fans will be happier with what I can come up with :D Actually, I'm just trying to cheer myself up :/ its hard when you really feel like crying :(

Im tired of WB cutting out All the subplsots they are the most important thngs in the books. This will be as Crapp* as the 4th movie. I gues if the dont butcher it much more it might be OK.

Lord of the Rings i like.... 1000 pages and it was nearly a 13 hour long movie! OOTP is 870 and it's going to be like, 3 hours at best...OBVIOUSLY some STUFF MUST BE CUT! what??? nooo. but thats a big part of rons charcter development and does that mean that they wont announce in the sixth movie that harry was made quidditch captain because thats even worse. how can they put it into the sixth movie if they dont put it in the fifth. that means that theres not going to be any quittich in the sixth movie too. boooo!!!!!

watching the movies has always been a somewhat painful experience, flinching everytime things are different than the books. I feel bad for Rupert who was looking forward to Quiddich.

Ugh...why do they have to change everything? I bet they're going to "forget" that Tonks is a metamorphamangus too. I like the Quidditch mathes though :(

Wow, and they are probably going to replace that storyline with a scene like the freaking long dragon/harry scene in GoF or the hyppogriff/harry scene in PoA. Personally, I think that Ron's character development, as well as other main characters', are more important than random scenes with harry and random magical creatures or even a random choir singing a song not even in the book. I think the film-makers will run into a lot of trouble with the sixth, and even seventh movie if none of their characters, besides Harry of course, are developed.

ok, i agree with jess10. and really what are they going to take out next? Harry? A HP film with out quidditch is like strawberry shortcake without the strawberries! Its just not right! And it's, like, super important too, the quidditch, I mean, but the strawberries are good too..... But honestly! I was mad when WB didn't let me try out for a part in the movie cuz I wasn't european, but now I don't want to be in the movie anymore if they're just going to ruin it with crap like this!

Well, I guess they had to cut out something, I mean it was the longest book, and if they cut some of GOF, they DEFINITELY had to cut something from OOTP... but quidditch?? dang.. :(
