The American Library Association is asking teens to vote this week for their three favorite books, with ALA subsequently posting the top 10. Half-Blood Prince is among those nominated, and you can vote here. Thanks to Kelly for the tip!

wow!!! I bet that it will get at LEAST third place!!! that is so cool!!! love it!

Posted by futuremrsradcliffe Oct 19th 2006

Just voted! I just voted for Eldest by Christopher Paolini and Harry Potter. Those were the only ones that I really liked on that list. Eldest is a really great book and if you haven't read it you should because it is awesome. almost as awesome as harry potter!

Posted by texassmarty1993 Oct 19th 2006

No surprises there! I voted for ya', HBP. (not even the top 100 I'm sooo behind the times)

Posted by jens Oct 19th 2006

okay! i did my part.. i voted until the cows came home...MOO!!

Posted by MuggleMage Oct 19th 2006

I've read a grand total of 3 on that list: Eldest, Rebel Angels, and (of course) HBP. Eldest was okay but it was kinda boring. It was really too long and it's easy to predict what's gonna happen. Rebel Angels was really good I recommend it and its prequel A Great and Terrible Beauty.

No surer way to know that HBP will win than posting this on Mugglenet. As a wise commenter said after Rupert Grint was nearly voted best supporting actor over Jake Gyllenhaal, never underestimate the power of a delusional Potter fan with a computer. Though this time, I think HBP deserves to win. And if the Mugglenet trend holds true, it will. I just voted. ;)

Cool!!! I am SO voting now....done!!!!

Posted by Gotpotter269 Oct 19th 2006

omg thats awesome!!!!!! i love HBP!

Posted by Micino Oct 19th 2006

Just voted =D The other books I've semi-heard of, but never read. They might be very good books, just not as well known. Of course, when I say very good, I'm not comparing them to Harry Potter. Harry Potter has its own catagory for magnificence! I think it will be up to HP6 and Eldest though. I did cast one vote for Eldest though, because it is a good book and I used it to get my brother to read HP.

Posted by Okirun Oct 19th 2006

*cries* I'm soooo behind, I've only read one book on that list. Guess which one. XD;;;;

Posted by unforgivable_curses Oct 20th 2006

i voted i voted!!!

Posted by hplovahduhhrr Oct 20th 2006

omg i just voted like 600,000 times.

Posted by futuremrsradcliffe Oct 20th 2006

I didn't think that Eldest was boring, mugglemage. It was kinda slow at a few pats but I liked it when... well i can't say what happens in the book just in case some one else decides to read it. And yes it is kinda long but it made my summer go by really fast! I read it twice this last summer!!! It was cool.

Posted by merry Oct 20th 2006

Definitely voted for HBP. it better win. i also voted for Twilight, because it's downright amazing, and Rebel Angels.

Posted by MuggleMage Oct 20th 2006

I guess it's just a difference of opinion then, futuremrsradcliffe. I did like Eragon better than Eldest. Eldest was just boring to me because all Eragon did throughout most of the book was train. The ending was okay but sorta predictable.

How can you not vote for HBP, though Eldest is fab too.

Posted by mighty Oct 21st 2006

News is slow lately, so...what. Aren't the webmasters here in college? They're going thru mid-terms right now, which are worse than finals (mid-terms are tests, on top of papers, on top of projects, you get the idea). Lighten up on them, they'll be back soon. They haven't let us down, they're just WAY busy!
