What about the layout? I'll admit that I'm not too fond of having the actors faces plastered everywhere but I think it's okay to have them for those who want them.

Posted by Sincerely_S Oct 29th 2006

That's pretty cool but too bad I won't see it. I like British shows much more natural then American shows --not that I have anything against it but there are lots of obvious differences.

Posted by alien_from_mars Oct 29th 2006

Oh I totally understand what you mean sejo, I would class myself as one of the orginals who use to come to this site. To keep the site more "orginal" or how I first saw it I keep the first layout, the blue one...it reminds me of what it use to be like. But I do like the new mugglenet, its great. Anyway, about the royle, just finished watching it! Its great! A bit upsetting, I weont spoil it for anyone but wasnt it so upsetting? I was basically crying at the end, I knew it would happen..but it was good. :)

Posted by BaybeeBethy Oct 29th 2006

Well I just watched it and it was really good, but I think Baby ( Little ) David should have had a bigger role! I'm not gonna spoil it for those who haven't seen it though, but I can't wait to see Jo in a bit lol!!

Posted by alien_from_mars Oct 29th 2006

Yeah, the news is on. -tut- I bet JKR will only speak twice! But I have heard Peter Kay is commenting on it aswell! So how fun is that? I love him. :)

Posted by ronmione_ Oct 29th 2006

just watched the episode, and cried my heart out. celebs are talking about it next, will keep updated!

Posted by alien_from_mars Oct 29th 2006

Never be able to put the clip on mugglenet, there is too much swearing, even JKR swears in it!

Posted by AliceFO Oct 29th 2006

Sejo_d69 If you don't like it, why the hell are you here> Stop moaning, the site has expanded, and it is a reflection on how much the Harry Potter world has grown since the site started in 1999.

Posted by tabitoo Oct 29th 2006

I agree with Sejo. :(

Posted by hprebel311 Oct 29th 2006

Sweet. But where is the mugglecast????

Posted by hedwigthegreat Oct 29th 2006

Please don't feed the Trolls!! :) I think mugglenet does the best it can and wouldn't have ads if they could help it - why not send in a donation if you feel so passionately about it - that or set up a tiny site of your own! It was great to see JKR talking about something other than HP and was interesting to hear her point of view because you could so clearly tell she was a great character storyteller as she'd thought about all the character motivations and backstory etc and peter kay was funny too - 18 1/2 years?! I'd also be interested to hear any american fans of royle family - its such a quentessentially english show, i can't imagine americans would find it funny - not an insult btw - just like we don't get baseball for the most part that kind of thing - i don't know its late and i'm getting confused but point is i'm not trying to be insulting, just curious for opinions! Love n hugs lisax

Posted by Grey Oct 29th 2006

hedwigthegreat, I think that most english shows are very funny even if they arn't suposed to be:) but then again I don't understand baseball or american football, so I guess I'm not much of an american person even though I am from the U.S. I like stuff from other countries more for the most part.

Posted by stargirl3198 Oct 29th 2006

oh please...hurry up! I want to watch it....!!! When are you going to post it up!! eekk...im so excited i can hardly wait...

Posted by Grey Oct 29th 2006

I really hope they put is in Leaky Video Gallery really soon. And also they took down "An Evening with Harry, Carry, and Garp Video". I wanted to show it to someone and I went in there and it wasn't there! I about hit myself over the head with a wrench I was so disapointed!

Posted by Lucas Oct 29th 2006

is it working for you guys

Posted by yourmomisme12 Oct 29th 2006

Uh oh Jo made a booboo and swore! =) I find it very entertaining.

Posted by Kiwi_Chick Oct 29th 2006

How do you get them to work? I clicked on both of them but all they both do is open a new window with the news post in it! Please help me

Posted by HollyQ Oct 29th 2006

Neither the Windows Media nor the Quicktime versions are working for me. Anyone else have a similar problem?

Posted by Kiwi_Chick Oct 29th 2006

They are not working for me either! Please somebody help! Does any noe have a copy of the video they can put in YouTube? P.S - where is mugglecast?

Posted by Phoenix87 Oct 29th 2006

I wan't Jo and the links won't work! [Begins sob hysterically.]

Posted by reddiej Oct 29th 2006

media.mugglenet.com/20061 029-jkrroylefamilyspecial /20061029-jkrroylefamilys pecial.wmv download with that link (it worked for me).

Posted by Ilovedanielradcliffe Oct 29th 2006

I agree AliceFO - The world of Harry Potter has expanded, it has grown further than some may have even imagined. As the Harry Potter world grows, the other end of the spectrum (ie. internet world) is bound to grow along with it. Mugglenet needs to continuously please people, and keep up with the growing world of Harry Potter. As long as WB doesnt end up owning Mugglenet, I can still feel the warm, cozyness from the earlier days. As long as Andrew Sims continues to make fads about pickles, and Emerson continues to be a smart ass, and JKR keeps writing the books and leaving places for theories and opinions, the site will always be the same inside, it will always be made by the same people with the same heart!

Posted by bookwormoakes Oct 29th 2006

I can't load it :(

Posted by patty892 Oct 29th 2006

help! i want to watch! fix please!

Posted by HollyQ Oct 29th 2006

Reddiej, that link you posted doesn't exist (at least for me it doesn't!). Aww I really want to see it!

Posted by choco523 Oct 29th 2006

It didn't exist for me either, HollyQ less. I really want to watch it!

Posted by oldest3 Oct 29th 2006

yah...whatever

Posted by reddiej Oct 29th 2006

media.mugglenet.com/20061 029-jkrroylefamilyspecial /20061029-jkrroylefamilys pecial.wmv it should work (I tried it again and it downloaded fine). you just have to take out all the spaces the link here seems to have (I don't know why it has spaces to begin with when the comment posts, it's fine when I'm pasting it), and make sure it's one straight link.

Posted by reddiej Oct 29th 2006

http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=IK4De-zt1nA Here it is on youtube (which I just uploaded). Give it a couple of minutes for the site to update it since it was just done, and it should work fine.

Posted by sunnygirly2k4 Oct 30th 2006

Oh, I watched this yesterday, it was really good what Jo was saying, like that she used to watch 'Antiques Roadshow', which I, ashamedly used to do too as well. I could listen to Jo talking all day, as I just feel you gain so much by hearing her speak about something. I missed the 9pm episode of the Royle Family, though.

Posted by alien_from_mars Oct 30th 2006

Hedwigthegreat- I totally agree with you. It is also very northern, I am from manchester myself, so I can see how northern it is, and how they speak. Its just such a funny show. And I dont think Americans would understand it as its british humour. Its like the film Love Actually, I am 100% certain alot of them didnt understand some of the inside jokes, that were basically just for english in there..so many, for example the ant and dec scene where bill said "ant OR dec" now for americans, they would just past that by, but english would be laughing over that.. Anyway, im just saying that Americans may not find it funny, as we all have dif cultures and society, and this is a very british one. :)

Posted by RyAn2006 Oct 30th 2006

Fantastic-hearing Jo talk about going to the pub at 15 and her childhood so openly! Plus as minor as it was to hear Jo say that word (!!) was thrilling! Lol something u dont expect to slip out! Then it sounds so funny to hear her say it!! lol!

Posted by tovarbaker Oct 30th 2006

wait a minute what's the deal, I can't get it to play anything, I click on the link and a new window opens up but there is nothing there

Posted by tovarbaker Oct 30th 2006

hooray! it works! in case it hasn't been mentioned, the word JKR says is the B word for a child born out of wedlock, and a good litmus test for weather or not someone is old enough to watch the clip is weather or not they are old enough for the show she is talking about. anyway thanks for fixing the link!

Posted by tabitoo Oct 30th 2006

Lol, that was nice. That show seems really funny, wished we could watch it here.

Posted by theherodconspiracy Oct 30th 2006

It's odd to think she gets The Royle Family. I always guessed she was very prim and proper, but it's nice to know she's a proper Brit. I love that programme so much... it's so British, so northern, so... real. Everyone knows someone from there. Everyone. Love it. The Americans probably won't get it though. It's a very cultural sort of thing.

Posted by LadyM Oct 30th 2006

wow...i loaded it on my iPod and just finished watching it...she doesn't say ANYTHING about Harry...and it just occured to me that it was the first time i heard her voice as well...

Posted by CrAzY_4_HP Oct 30th 2006

lol

Posted by Ginny Oct 30th 2006

Excelent!!... i'll check it out tight away!!

Posted by HollyQ Oct 30th 2006

theherodconspiracy, that's funny, I never thought you was too prim and proper. I remember her saying that she wanted to have Harry and Ron swear in the books, but her editor wouldn't let her. And didn't someone (I think Marvolo Gaunt or someone) say the s-word (not sure if I can write it here... referring to a promiscuous girl lol) in the books.

Posted by queen_emma Oct 30th 2006

I agree with you HollyQ. JKR isnt prim and proper, shes very real. In some senses its a shame Harry potter is primarily a childrens book because its had to edit out a lot of things like the swearing. So much a part of being teenage is rebelling, even if its so much as a light swearword. Jk does however do her best to subtly imply such things without saying them so adults will understand and children wont even notice them. i think thats how shes dealt with the whole sex issue.

Posted by hedgefrog Oct 30th 2006

I've listened to it three times now and I still can't word out what the swear word is supposed to be, can someone tell me what the sentence is or something?

Posted by africansk8er Oct 30th 2006

I'm putting it on Youtube - http://www.youtube.c om/watch?v=Az3nEDuz-io

Posted by Trelawneys_Fan Oct 30th 2006

The video kinda sucks, right? I was hoping to hear something about Harry Potter 7.... Maybe a short line by JKR saying "It's going well.... I'm almost finished by now", or something, but noooo, only Royale Family, or whatever! PS.To hedgefrog: I couldn't notice which the swear word was either.... Maybe we should wait till someone else tells us!

Posted by TomMarvoloRiddle Oct 30th 2006

I love JKRowling, The Royle Family and Noel Gallagher. How could I have missed it?!

Posted by MuggleChick04 Oct 30th 2006

I love Jo and i will love her more if she gives us the title to book seven for Halloween!!!

Posted by tametan Oct 30th 2006

* is it just me or does her eye colour changes from a blue to green, then back to blue??? * note to that person that a character said the "s" word in any of the hp books...no one did...i think...

Posted by HollyQ Oct 30th 2006

tametan, I started worrying I was crazy. She did use the word, in Chapter 17 of the British version. Maybe it's not in the American one.

Posted by xxgen Oct 30th 2006

Never heard of the show [since i'm an american] but it looks like it would be funny! lol i just love JK! I didn't of course understand what the interview was about but it's always nice to hear whatever Jo is saying! :] And what exactly was the "inappropriate word" used by Jo? lol maybe I'm just dull-eared but I didn't even notice. Anyone care to point it out without violating the MuggleNet comment rules? Oh, and a note to tametan and Holly Q: Yes, the "s-word" [as in the word for a promiscuous girl as noted by someone else] WAS used in Book 6 in both the UK and US editions. Just to clarify...:]

Posted by skates Oct 30th 2006

Wow she looks great! That show somehow seems very British, and kind of weird (but of course i'm looking through my American eye) JKR seemed to like it! and she COOKS ????!!! ha...who would have guessed...
