EDIT: Some news outlets are reporting the title as "Deathly Hollows," but this is incorrect. Also, for those of you who hadn't noticed, the title was released yesterday on the winter solstice. Recall in OOTP: "...at the solstice will come a new... and none will come after..." At the winter solstice, a new title will be revealed, but as this is the last book, no more will be released.

Man this is great, i love this title. Its like the perfect last title for the series we all came to love and become fans of. I remeber when we stood out in the rain and at midnight to get Goblet of Fire, Order of The Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and now for The Deathly Hallows. Very Cool title and Darkness Jo. I cant wait...ill start my scouting after the holidays for a cover.

A couple of comments: Hallows are places where spirits are known to dwell, so I wonder if we're going to see Harry, Orpheus-like, going into the Underworld, perhaps to retrieve Sirius? (Maybe, maybe, maybe!) On a more pessimistic note, since we normally get the title a year ahead of publication, I'm afraid that 7/7/07 is a dead letter. I hope I'm wrong.

Okay, so heres what I think the title alludes to. Hallow -> all hallows eve. A hallow is a saint or a revered one. I think the "deathly hallows" could be the founders of hogwarts. I'm psyched about this book. 07/07/07... count on it.

Woooowwwww! We have a title! It's really intriguing. I guess Halloween won't be such a great day for Harry Potter this time around? This kind of worries me, though. I was thinking our Christmas present would be the knowledge of the release date...hmmm.

Blasphemy as it is, I agree that this is somewhat of an Anti-Climax. I love Harry Potter, and I love Jo, but.. This title will need to grow on me, if it's even the real one (Note that it doesn't actually say it's the title). I'll withold judgement for now, I think.. Not bad, but feels wrong to me.. And interesting comment there, MadamPince2.
Hmmm. I don't know, but her titles always sound strange to me at first. I didn't like HBP or OotP at first either. I wonder what the other titles were...

Well, this comes in second for best Christmas present ever. The first would be when the release date for HBP came out which was just slightly better news than finding out this incredibly intriguing title!
