I think that this will have something to do with a lot of things,there are so many things regarding death and Halloween.The ghosts,the Horcruxes,the night of Halloween when James and Lily were killed,etc,etc. Can't make out either head or tail of the title

i hate to bust almost everyones bubble, but i remember when the room of requirement opened two years ago to tell us that the title of the sixth book was HBP july 7th. we didnt get the book until a over a year later july 16. jo will probably do the same to us this time around. no chance of a summer 07 release, sorry.

It's just a guess. Jo likes astrology and numerology, we can't forget that. While I'm excited for the book... and I know that now it'll only be a matter of time before it's realeased, I'm incredibly disappointed in the title. What sort of title is that?!?!? It's the worst title I've ever head, and I've heard some bad ones. I kinda wish she had chosen a different title of the three she said she was contemplating...god that title will haunt me forever. It's terrible. But all the same... WHOOO BOOK SEVEN!!!

Not the type of title i was expecting...but i think i have an idea of wat she means by "deathly hallows"....godrics hallow..? ring a bell? maybe something big happens there, other than harry visiting his parent's graves..maybe he goes there more than once...u never know...

The oddest thing about this is that when I went on MuggleNet today I had this strange feeling that I was going to find out what the title for book 7 was... and there it was. I was nearly in shock when I saw it. Deathly Hallows, eh? I don't know; some people might find it corny, but I think it has a nice ring to it. Slightly morbid, yes, but it feels fitting for the type of mood I've always envisioned the book to have. To me, it doesn't seem too corny at all. I think... I like it. I was screaming in excitement when I read it though. I couldn't contain myself. Then when I walked into the living room, and my mom and brother (neither fans of the Harry Potter books, only movies), who were watching a movie, turned around with this inquisitive looks on their faces when I screamed, "OH MY GOSH!!! To respect or honor greatly; revere i thinkt the title may refer to someone (or something) that is worshiped highly and is obviously deadly. or maybe a death that is worshiped? idk... any more ideas?

I was just telling my cousin today that she'd probably release the title within a couple of days, and here it is! Wow. It's so weird hearing the LAST title... it's so sad to think that this joy will never come again. I will never again be waiting to open Jo's secret door to find out another title... I'm going to miss it. Nice title, though. I can't wait for the book!

wow everyone's theories are great!!! i really enjoyed reading them all... so I got to thinking and way back in PS/SS to Harry's first potions class and the three questions Snape asked Harry. Two of them have proved to be extremely relevant and I think I might have a theory as to the third one... The 2nd one he mentions is a bezoar (which saves Ron in HBP), the 3rd one is wolfsbane.... well we know about Lupin, and the very first one he mentions is the Draught of Living Death... hmm maybe Harry will somehow use this to go beyond the Veil and find answers/encouragement from those he loves (parents, Sirius, DD)... Jo always brilliantly connects everything throughout the entire series... maybe while in contact with these people Harry will learn something about the Horcruxes... I mean by themselves look at the damage they can do, but put together... wow that is some huge magic. Maybe it will be some way that the prophecy can be fulfilled without Harry having to AK Voldemort (which i don't think he would..) I mean we are supposing that we need Horcruxes from the 4 Houses and isn't the Sorting Hat constantly stressing the need for the houses to unite? sorry that was way out there but its kinda a different way of looking at it... i totally agree with something important happening on Halloween and going back in the pensieve to observe that horrible halloween night in 1981.

Well like most others im a bit dissapointed. To be honest I think the title really sucks and doesnt give off the potential of the book. But I know she will write an amazing book like usual...so dont get too worked up over the title. I was just wondering what her other 2 titles were that she had. I mean she did say on her site that she had three in mind. I was thinking maybe she would do a poll and let us decide the title for the last book. That would be pretty cool. At first I thought it was a bit weak compared to the other titles, but the more I thought about it the more I realized it was just like the others.
