These pictures are really cool but something tells me he is doing this to seperate himself from HP and that is why he is so determined. I think it might be a real phobia of his. Has anyone thought about Emma and Rupert will react to this???

I feel the need to put in my 2 cents. I completely agree with Yoana and britfan. They took the thoughts right out of my mind. Body hair IS natural, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Now a trim may not hurt everyonce in a while, but there should definately be hair. It isn't like Daniel is posing for Playgirl either. This is a well respected play with very demanding roles. Good for him for stepping up in a performance that will require so mcuh of him. He was always a good looking guy and now he is a steamy- good looking guy. And everyone has seen what happens to people that are type cast. It sucks, I wouldn't wish that on anybody, especially a young talented actor such as Daniel Radcliffe. Oh, and the Robin Williams comment, that was great! LOL! There you have it, my 2 cents!

I just had another thought to add to my 2 cents. How weird would it be to be Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. I mean, assuming they attend a performance of the play, wouldn't it be weird? Now you have seen one of your oldest friends and co- worker naked? If I saw any of my co-workers naked it would be WEIRD. I know they would want to look at it as "just a performance," but the fact stands that he was NAKED during the performance. Yeah, I think it would be awkward for the first few minutes between Dan, Emma, and Rupert all discussing Dan's performance. I bet Dan's first night on stage is going to be terribly nerve racking. I wish him luck! NOW I am done with my *ahem* 4 cents :)

I can honestly say that I will never look at Dan as Harry Potter again. He look really good in the photo's. First I thought it was Elijah Wood in the first two because they has some of the same features, which is a good thing. I always thought Dan was a very attractive guy but now he is...WOW. Both Harry and this other role are characters that he has/ will play and both require different things from him, this one requires that he is naked for a time that is all, it should in no way reflect on people’s opinion on him playing Harry, that is just plain daft.

Some people on this comment board need to get a grip on realiy. First of all, DAN is NOT going to stop persuing his passion for acting just because he's playing the role of Harry potter. You need to get the glasses and the Hogwart's robes out of your mind and then look at the bigget picture. Dan is only playing a character required for him to portray and he's doing exactly that with 'Equus'. Dan didn't ask for them to deliberately post half naked pictures of him so he would get publicity, he did what was required of him, and I give him props for displaying such confidence and courage, which mostly only comes with experience, which Dan hasn't had much of. I think exactly what Dan, Emma and Rupert are afraid of is occurring, HP 'fans' are labelling them, and can't seem to accept the fact that they have grown up and are at the age where thy want to persue different character roles that ARE going to contradict with their roles in HP. Second of all, WHY do you people have so much problem seeing hair on Dan's body, I mean seriously, he'sgoing to b 18, what were you expecting him to do, show hairless skin, get over that fantasy. It's as if Dan having hair on his body mean he's actually a real person and not a fictional character just in your dellusional minds, because we all know, fictional characters don't have hair on their bodies. I recommend a psychiatrist to all of you who actually believe that, which most of you obviously do.

Come on everyone what is the big deal? It's nudity, it's perfectly natural, the human body is a beautiful thing. This is hardly porn. And this isn't the 1920's for christsake! And the sex scene? Sex is a perfectly natural part of life, and it's acting. It's not real. He's seventeen yes, but so is the character. Give him the credit for being so brave, and so at ease with himself that he is able to do this. I'm getting my tickets; it's an amazing play and I'd love to see what Dan does with such a mature role. Face it people he's not a little boy anymore.

BTW, did he shave his chest fot the bath scene in GoF?? No, he didn't. That scene was filmed two years ago. In that age, two years make a whole world of difference. Mike Newell commented around the time of GoF premiere how Dan's complexion was completely different from how it had been when they began filming GoF. Anyway, I don't know if he had some body hair. I've read somewhere that they used the computer to make it vanish. Anyway, if it's true, there certainly was a much smaller amount of it by then. I'm laughing a lot with all these comments. People seem to forget that adolescents grow and change a lot. My daughter was 15 days apart of me and when we came together again she was very different. And people forget what they already know about Dan Radcliffe: that his voice broke when he had just become 12, that his major growth spurt occurred between CoS and PoA, and that he made bath scenes in David Copperfield and Harry Potter and a sex scene in December Boys. This means two things. 1. He had an early transformation from boy to man. It's always been that way. 2. He is not as shy to show his body as you are. You know there are people that aren't prude and Dan is like that. And about the other actors' reactions, actors have to be more used to seeing their mates in the buff. It's just part of their job. a lot of Harry Potter actors has performed nude. Most of the adult cast, actually. Even Rupert has shown a similar amount of skin as we see in these photos(though from the back) in Driving Lessons.

There are really great photos of Dan ! He is stunning - a good attribute in a young and upcoming actor. He has his own unique acting style, and there is a place for that in the theater/movie world. Go Dan! - please see Harry Potter through to the end - don't drop that image until the 7th movie is complete.

Bloody Hell!!!

When I first heard about Dan doing Equus, I was concerned about how the reaction of the parents of young HP fans might impact Warner Bros.' desire to keep him in the part of Harry. I was scared to death there could be enough complaint that they might opt to use someone else for the final films, which would RUIN them for me (changing any of the main characters would ruin them, not just Dan). And I still am concerned about that, but I also think all the parents who are upset need to recognize it is THEIR responsibility to be a role model for their children...NOT DAN'S...and if they disapprove of his part in Equus, don't take them to see it. None of the photos published of him so far so any more skin than what you can see on television every single night to the week! You don't hear them complaining so loudly about that, now do you? Personally, I applaud Dan's maturity and bravery at taking on a role such as the one in Equus. I do believe it will challenge him as an actor, and he has said that is the sort of part he wants to do ... he is clearly NOT trying to take the easy way out in life and ride on the coat tails of the fame the Potter series has earned him, and today, that is saying a great deal about his character. I hope Dan's parents are bursting with pride in the incredible son they've raised ... I know I would be if I were his mother.

I am not usually a dan fan, in the sense that i don't really think he's that good looking compared to rupert...: ) but in this....simply breathtaking...amongst other things. hahaha

I wonder, how many people will go to see this play because it's genuinely good and how many people will go to see this play because it's a chance to see Harry Potter naked? I know that Dan doesn't want to be typecast as Harry Potter for the rest of his life. But, there's only one reason I'd pay to see "Equus", and it has nothing to do with the fact that I think it has a good storyline.

Well, pro-Equus or anti-Equus, you can't deny that Dan has done well in keeping himself in shape. What a beautiful example of a healthy, young, male body. I've had art models in my life drawing classes that aren't as fine looking. Oh, and if anyone cares....age of consent in England is 16. Dan is 17. So he can do pretty much what he wants.

I just think this is being blown out of propotion. The nekkie scene only lasts a little bit, and is essential to the development of the play. If you've read Equus, you would understand. Therefore, I think it is you who do not understand. My gender does not count either way.

I am infuriated with the comments people are making about how it's 'wrong' that Dan appear naked in a play because he plays Harry Potter. Yes, I JOKED a little about him being skinny and how he still seemed kind of young to take such a huge leap, but come on, it's not smut, it's a play! Don't try and limit art just because you don't want 'the kid who plays Harry Potter' to do any roles that aren't kid safe because he started out doing somewhat kid-oriented movies. He is going to grow up, and this isn't even obscene. People who are claiming Daniel is their child's role model should really understand that Dan is still a person who can do as he wishes, without having to worry about what the whole world will think of him. I don't even think this makes him a bad role model! Be your own kid's role model, and leave Dan to choose the work he wants to do.

I just had a thought: Isn't it wonderful and aren't we fortunate that Dan Radcliffe turned out the way he did? When he was cast as Harry Potter at 11 or however old he was, they had no idea that he would turn out so mature, good-looking, and intelligent. He is (so far) completely different from all the other child actors who go out and party and get fat and ugly and become no-name losers when they come of age. Congratulations Dan Radcliffe on breaking the mold and doing your thing.

Um... whats up with this? I know its only a human body, but should we really be looking (it's in the job description I know!). I think he looks much better with at least some clothes on! The worst thing was my mum found out before me, other wise I would have sensored them a little more. It is not something a woman of her age should endure!

I am the mother of two young boys who are HP fans, of course they are my favorite books and movies as well. I have no issue or complaint with Dan posing nude and being involved in sex scenes - my children are not going to see those movies or plays - at least not until they are a little older. I totally agree with Carol61 - it is the parents responsibility to set examples and guide them towards positive role models. The entertainment business does have the majority of role models for the younger generations. As far as Dan and the morality of his decisions, well I reserve judgement. I think he has enough to be getting on with. He is out doing what he enjoys doing ( and does it well) and makes him happy. Good for him. I wish everyone was that blessed.

I honestly don't understand what's wrong with some people. So Dan was naked. So WHAT? It was a part of a PLAY--A work of ART--nothing more. This is a valid and well-respected play, and I think it's great Dan is taking on challenging roles. ----About these pictures, though: I can't stop reading "ELIJAH!" into Dan's face. The resemblance is uncanny! They have got to be long lost brothers...lol.

Dan is hot, he's not not, my kids shouldn't see this, he'll always be 'Harry Potter', he'll rise above the typecast.... do we really need 1145 posts saying these things over and over again?

You know, to me persoanlly, I just don't see making it after HP is over. Alot of child stars don't make it after a successful run of a tv show etc and I just don't see Dan making it as an actor after the series is over. I think either he'll end up doing low budget flops or end up doing porn films like some child stars end up doing. That's just my personal opinion on it. Then again, he just may do well and I wish him all the best of luck in the world for that. As I said I like Dan but I fear he's gonna make some bad decisions career wise. I do hope he does well in his acting career and makes some wise decisions.

Dan is hot, I want to see the play, but, I am a poor senior trying to save money to move out of state this summer, and for college. But, I'm not gonna see him as Harry any different than I did before, its 2 completly different roles, you shouldn't see him as one role when he is playing another one. After the Harry Potter movies, he is gonna be big, there is no way he can't, he is an awesome actor. Thats all I have to say at the moment.
