Hm... I think these photos look... astonishing. I never imagined Dan like this. Well, he does look good... and I find it hard to say that I don't like them. But does anyone feel like he's trying a bit too eagerly to escape from the role of Harry Potter? Of course as an actor he doens't one to be Harry Potter forever. But Equus is like... too different from Harry Potter.

Who ever goes and see's this play can honestly say " I saw Harry Potter naked!" Hmmmm, he does have a nice body. This is weird for me, but I think it's cool that he can feel so comfortable on stage naked infront of a bunch of people. GO DAN!!!

I am amusd by all the comments by people who are upset with Dan for tarnishing their vision of him as Harry. Newsflash, folks, Dan is an actor, and he can take whatever roles he is offered. Your approval is not necessary. Not even relevant, in fact. He doesn't care what you think.

I applaud Daniel for taking this role. It's a beautiful play, and a very emotionally charged character. However, the photos still make me shudder. Though it's beautiful photography, if you want to look at it from an art perspective.

I'm tired (already) of hearing parents protesting about the photos. If you don't want to see them, or Equus, don't look at them. Dan is not out running down the streets nude (although there would be nothing wrong with that, since we're all nude underneath it all) but he's taken on a professional job, which has artistic worth. Keep your kids away from the site and/or photos if you find them objectionable ~ let's keep in mind that Dan is being shown from the *privates* up ~ and let him pursue a piece of theatre if he so chooses. It should not effect HP and HP should not effect Equus. I find it silly to be "outraged." I admire Dan for taking on such a difficult piece of Tony-award-winning stage work. I hope he's able to pull it off. If I were able to get to London to see it, I certainly would. BTW ~ I think he looks lovely in the promo pics, even if he is 17 and I'm ... not. And I won't boycott anything related to HP. I will look at him differently, though, when watching him as HP, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. : )

WeasleyTwinLover 12, Dan was covered up in bubbles and wasnt trying to hug Myrtle. These pics are disturbing. Dan with his pants down disturbingly low and sometimes naked although you dont see all(thank god), plus he is hugging the girl. There is a MAJOR difference.

Saima: I don't hate Dan and I AM entitled to my own opinion and I wasn't bashing him. So, I don't appreciate you telling me what to say or do. It's my personal opnion on the matter and I feel you should respect that just like I respect yours and no I am NOT jealous. As I said I like Dan and to tell you the truth, I am old enough to be his mother but since I am not, that's all I have to say on the matter. I just feel that those pics should not be posted on a HP site and as I said before if he does well, then great but I was just giving statistics about alot of child stars don't make it and Dan just might be the exception. My nine year old son came in the room when one of the photos was up on our computer. I didn't make a big deal about it so he didn't think much of it. He asked if it was Harry Potter - I told him no it was the guy who plays Harry and this is one of the pictures for the play he is going to be in. My son simply said 'oh' and left the room. They are lovely pictures - and not just because Dan looks good physically. I think kimberllee is right - if you do not like them, then don't look or go to the play.

Equus is a serious play and if he passed the audition he certainly can act. He's young but he will mature with time. I can see him being naked for Equus. I've seen it before and it's a powerful, emotional play where the nudity is part of what happens. People make too much of nude bodies

hrlmom, if my mom was viewing those pics, I'd find it very awkward and embarassing even if no one else knows about it. I might not say a word but I'd be thinking about how it was pathetic. Especially you know, how my mom is a married woman? It is one thing when your a teenager and as an adult yes you can look at the pics even if you are married but gushing over it and setting it as your wallpaper or something is sort of different. Oh yeah FerN, I doubt Laura Mallorey would care seeing as she is protesting the BOOKS not the movies.

why do some poeple try to act more mature than they are? I have read countless comments bashing the opinions of other commenters for their "immature" statements. So...if someone has a different opinion then you they are wrong? Oh ya...thats real mature! Also...most males do not have that much hair around their groin at his age. Even though im only 14, I work out with the varsity football team, and when we shower after I know that they do NOT have that much hair...and these are seventeen and eighteen year olds of several races...

If whoever cast Radcliffe in Equus thought he wasn't right for the role, he wouldn't have got the part. Equus is a mature play, not made for your average teen fangirl (who would, incidentally, be too young to watch). Radcliffe is not going on stage for some HP-related publicity stunt. There are fans here who are interested in the actor and the play, so the site is doing no wrong in posting the photos. Also, if an parents are concerned, then they can decide and limit what their children are and aren't allowed to access on -ine. Radcliffe has every right to branch out. He was first cast as Harry at a very young age, but that alone should not be a great influence upon any acting career he wishes to continue in. As fans, we of all people should accept this and support him, not attack the fact that he's no longer acting the part of a child. Keep things in perspective, people, and let the man get on with his life.

The comments have been very entertaining to read - although the pictures of young Mr Radcliffe were even more entertaining to look at ... *fans self* I actually wouldn't go and see the play (doesn't sound like my kind of story) but I don't doubt he'll do well, if only because he's so determined. I wouldn't be game enough to try and predict where Dan will be in ten years' time...but I think I'd be safe in saying (as others have) that the number of photo manips using these pictures will be astonishing. I've tried to get onto danradcliffe.com but I think it's temporarily broken...probably too many Dan fans trying to hit the site.
