HBP Audio Book enters APA Hall of Fame
At the National Press Club's Audie Awards in Washington DC last night, Half-Blood Prince was entered into the Audio Publishers Association's brand-new Hall of Fame. HBP is the very first book to have been awarded with this prestigious honor. The book was narrated by Jim Dale for Listening Library.

Posted by soccerpotter104 May 20th 2006

whoa dude that is flipping awesome man! hehe

Posted by Lilypudding May 20th 2006

This is great news! I've never listened to the HPB audio book, but I have listened to the CoS and SS audio books about three or four years ago on a long car trip. I'll never forget them; they were much more interesting than reading and got my family into HP. This makes being a HP fan a great honor. Jim Dale is a great reader. He's done a lot of work on the stage, and as a HP fan and Broadway fanatic, I feel he's provided a great link between the two. He deserves the honor as well. This is such great news!

Posted by taurus_rox May 20th 2006

That's great! I've never actually heard one of the audio books, but I think I probably should...I've heard they're awesome...

Posted by Siriusly_in_Love May 20th 2006

wow! Harry Potter even wins awards that never exsisted before... pretty amazing NOT DEAD!

Posted by aethos May 20th 2006

I've actually listened to both Jim Dale and Stephen Fry. They are both very good narrators. Unfortunately I prefer Stephen Fry if for any reason, because I can't stand it when Jim Dale does a voice for Hermione saying "Harry". You just have to hear it for yourself as I can't explain that well. That and the fact that every man he does over 35 sounds like he's been sipping on Brandy for about 12 hours. Still as I said, they are both very good when it comes to readings.

Posted by Peevsie May 20th 2006

That is amazing!

That's awesome! Congrats!

Posted by DecemberDrops May 20th 2006

Does anyone else prefer Stephen Fry to Jim Dale? Not many people seem to, but I do. Good for Harry Potter -- again! And good for Jim!

Posted by DecemberDrops May 20th 2006

I mean -- I prefer Jim Dale's voice talents (which are certainly stunning!), but I like the emotion that Stephen Fry puts into the reading. What do you think?

Posted by Julie May 20th 2006

Amazing! =D

Posted by aspiring_witch May 20th 2006

what about the stephen fry version of HBP. that is the bomb!

Posted by IraRaven May 20th 2006

Spiffiness, I love the HBP.

Posted by Mat May 20th 2006

cool, maybe i should have a listen to HBP

Posted by DecemberDrops May 20th 2006

To aspiring_witch: I haven't heard Stephen Fry's version of HBP. Does he put a lot of emotion into Dumbledore's death?

Posted by gryffingirl99 May 20th 2006

WOW!!!! thats awsome!=) IF U THINK THE SORTING HAT IS A HORCRUX PASTE THIS IN UR COMMENT!!!!THANK YOU.

Posted by Merodoc May 20th 2006

I can see that, with such little prestige, they would want to enter in a book that will give them at least mediocre media coverage.

Posted by lupinlove16 May 20th 2006

Awe that is so awesome
