WB: Enhanced OOTP poster wasn't approved
Recently, Warner Bros. released this promotional poster for Order of the Phoenix film. However, IMAX.com posted a similar poster with minor changes which included making Emma Watson appear more curvaceous.

This alteration prompted outrage among fans, and now, according to The Daily Mail, the enhanced IMAX poster was not approved by WB who said: "This is not an official poster. Unfortunately this image was accidentally posted on the Imax website. The mistake was promptly rectified and the image taken down."

wow. do they really need to resort to THAT??!

Posted by kooldude10694 May 6th 2007

I wouldn't have noticed unless someone told me! You can barely even notice once you're told! Poor Emma! But she is hot....:)

Posted by SandyP May 6th 2007

Firstly, the more important point is that each image is doctored so it is a little callous(sp?) to address the fact that the IMAX image appears to have been doctored to make Emma appear to be curivier, while the hair makeup are different. Since they are different and unoriginal features on both images it's hard to say what is "natural" or not. Both images are at fault if one argues with the "natural" side. What should be addressed if you go along with that argument is that: neither photo should to enhanced/doctored. In addition, for those ultra purests out, if you all feel so strongly about the issue at hand, why don't you request that there would be no enhancement to the movie. How does anybody know whether in the offical image they slimmed her down to make her look "acceptable?" (Granted, Emma Watson is a slim girl) (I presonally feel that whether or not a film is being filmed in Hollywood, there is still the Hollywood mentality: prefection. It is just the business that Emma and the others are in. Unless they have fantastic contract dictating how they want themselves to be viewed in the film/ editing and the public relations/promotions area they really cannot say "boo.") Also this is IMAX, if people do not like to see an enhanced Emma or any of the others, don't see it. The big dish about IMAX is that it is ENHANCED! Also the orignal images may not be the same. It's unnecessary to make an assumption about the pictures at this point.

Curvaceous..that's funny, Mugglenet! But still..POOR HOT EMMA! ;)

Posted by doemaareenlekkerpalmpje May 6th 2007

How stupid.... when i first saw the old poster I did notice emma's t**, they just pop out and were really an eyecatcher. Marketing wise it's stupid to erase that eyecatcher, sex sells. But well, I guess some 50 / 60 year old girl somewere in America is very happy now.

Posted by hp_lover1312 May 6th 2007

I can't believe they would do that!!! How.........how........ev il! I feel bad for Emma now, I know I would feel horrible if someone altered me in a picture. They're kind of saying that she's not pretty enough to be on that poster by altering her! She is totally pretty enough!

Posted by fUnKiE May 6th 2007

Yeah, her **** look totally way bigger in the iMAX poster. hahah :)

Posted by pazuzu May 6th 2007

Yet again Hollywood proves how shallow they really are. How insulting to Emma. For shame! I can't believe they took back the old poster just because they hadn't finished 'air brushing' in bigger breasts. Are there no women working for that studio because that is pretty pathetic.

Posted by doemaareenlekkerpalmpje May 6th 2007

She stills looks quite sexy on the new poster... maybe they should get Emma off it... because teen age boys can't handle that and will masterbate on it so often they will die. How hypocrite.

Posted by knowitall May 6th 2007

to doemaareenlekkerpalmpje: You do not actually mean that, do you?

Posted by HPBrad16 May 6th 2007

Actually, she's 17 now. Way to be politically correct MuggleNet, I couldnt of thought of a safer way to say that.

Posted by doemaareenlekkerpalmpje May 6th 2007

I was just beeing sarcastic, knowitall ;)

Posted by xrated13 May 6th 2007

HAHAHAHAAHAHAA. That is so amusing. I didn't notice any difference before this post. *snorts*

Posted by Cassakay May 6th 2007

How ridiculous of them to do that. I can't stand the shallow Hollywood mentality. You want your girls to be a size 2 and still have a bigger cup size? No wonder so many resort to crash diets and plastic surgery. I think Emma's pretty the way she is. I'm glad WB explained what happened.

Posted by braders101 May 6th 2007

Three words!--------------PA-TH E-TIC

Posted by doemaareenlekkerpalmpje May 6th 2007

Well that's not the Hollywood mentality, that is the marketing mentality. Yes, Emma is pretty the way she is, but with bigger **** she is sexy'er and that sells. But still, it's still not the real Emma on the poster, they edited everything (t**, eyebrows, spots on the face...). It's not that horrible, it happens all the time all over the world (magazines, movies, posters, commercials). But what I don't like is the prude mentality of this action. They should get laid.

Posted by orangetoast May 6th 2007

IMAX PERSON #1: Let's make this poster "better". IMAX PERSON #2: Sure. After all, being a teenage actress isn't hard enough with the creepos, fame that follows you wherever you go, and the gap between you and your friends. imax person #1: And its not like our actions have consequences! Idiots

Posted by doemaareenlekkerpalmpje May 6th 2007

Don't feel sorry for Emma, she makes so much money on this, do you really thinks she cares about something like this?

Posted by fantfreak May 6th 2007

I wouldn't have noticed if they hadn't told me the difference. lol....

Posted by Miss_Ravenclaw May 6th 2007

'Curvaceous'? I'm disgusted, IMAX. Poor Emma, they're making it seem like she's 400 pounds or something. But thanks for getting rid of it, Warner Bros. =]

Posted by moktrtlocean May 6th 2007

flippin sweet poster

Posted by Hermione_Fan May 6th 2007

Poor Emma! Sometimes I hate the media.

Posted by roonaldwazlib May 6th 2007

ya'll are really observative... but that's horrible... hehehehehe what an idiot

Posted by HPgeek4LIFE May 6th 2007

i dont agree with the fact that they have to make hermione more curvy. they should keep haer as she is. she's a good role model and if she appears differently then people will like her less for whats inside and more for whats outside. its wrong.

Posted by Ashley May 6th 2007

Too bad the second one is the UNphotoshopped one. WB are really crazy.

Posted by siriusblkfan4lif May 6th 2007

I can't believe they would do thatt! What a bunch of perverts, lol

Posted by hermionemma May 6th 2007

C'mon you guys! This picture is also a lot shorter and if you were to drag the arrow up to shorten it, some things would get wider. And do you honestly think Emma Watson would even notice??

Posted by lu_2 May 6th 2007

hahahaha its so funny! hahaha... but i wouldnt have noticed

Posted by mugglecast_fan May 6th 2007

yay leaky!! they started the movement against "enhanced emma"

Posted by Squeaky May 6th 2007

THAT IS SO EMBARACING!!! this once again prooves how people are judged, i mean this is harry potter not playboy!!! *laughs*

Posted by sirius_rox May 6th 2007

That's stupid, why would they do that, good thing they didn't aprove!

Posted by XredxthornsX May 6th 2007

I think she is hot i think IMAX took advantage of that and made her look "differant" in the poster i think she looks good in the IMAX poster but i think IMAX shouldn't have changed her apperance in the poster because it basically "exploits" her looks in some way so i think keep the original poster is good the "official" she looks great in and there is no need to change the way she appears in the posters adn i don't think Emma would like it either.....DONE!

Posted by hdmv_2116 May 6th 2007

Oh poor emma! She's already pretty! That's just soo...wrong.

Posted by bornsri May 6th 2007

emma was always hot...a little alteration makes her hotter...big deal!!go wb!

Posted by BoulderDude May 6th 2007

Wow, what the hell? It doesnt seem like theres any changes at all.

Posted by HpAlwaysN4ever May 6th 2007

That's horrible. Good thing it was taken down.

Posted by XredxthornsX May 6th 2007

lets just say this she is HOT but this is a family movie and she shouldn't be made look "curvaceous" she looks good because she's pretty in the face so lets not exploits the Potter girls "assets" and bodys

Posted by roadtripkaraoke May 6th 2007

Ha, bet Emma was like "Huh, where did those come from." They did the same thing to Keira Knightly on the PotC posters.

Posted by Regulus_Black May 6th 2007

This is insane! Why are they making her more "curvaceous"?? As much as I disslike Emma Watson, she is a very pretty young woman, and she has a lovely figure - there is no need to edit her to make her more curvy.

Posted by LaurenWeasley May 6th 2007

woww.. what some people will do.. it's so ridiculouss. ahaa.

Posted by Babel May 6th 2007

I wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't mentioned, either. I hope her feelings weren't hurt; if it were me, my pride would've been a tad wounded. And did anyone find any other changes besides that? On a side note, 'curvaceous' is an excellent word. +1 tact for MuggleNet.

Posted by Godric_83 May 6th 2007

i dont see a differenece :s

Posted by Lucas May 6th 2007

Well... I was happy about the change

Posted by veronikaS May 6th 2007

I don't see what all the fuss is about. This whole thing is SO stupid. Get a life Melissa A. I'll bet if Melissa were good-looking she wouldn't have been so nitpicky. You can't even see a difference in the posters. And what is Melissa doing staring at a 17-year-old girl's **** anyway?....Weirdo....

Posted by pat6290 May 6th 2007

...i didn't even notice a difference. Infact she looks more enhanced in the official version. If anything they toned it down by shadowing off more of her (noticable in the face)

Posted by Switchfoot May 6th 2007

I still don't see why people are causing a fuss about this (well, the Mail causes a fuss about anything).. The difference is barely perceptible, and as SandyP mentioned, all movie posters are doctored/touched up/enhanced in SOME way. Frankly I don't think that it's much of a crime, nor that anyone really minds that much. PC

Posted by pat6290 May 6th 2007

okay, now i see it. But if you go back and forth really fast, you can tell the way they edited it was by shrinking not cropping. The people are closer and a little bit compressed vertically (not very noticable). Also i tried doing it myself and when you do it emma's body becomes too dark to have as a main character on the poster, so you have to use tools in the program (i used photoshop's dodge tool) to lighten her which causes the enhancement to her body, as for the large curve...she looked fat when i did it. They would have had to manually (i used the photoshop smudge tool).

Posted by HeirOfRavenclaw May 6th 2007

that is horrible. what is with our society and looks? yes, i'd never have noticed either, but apparently ppl did, and it just makes me really mad. its Harry Potter, not American Pie of something, for goodness sakes. im glad WB didnt approve it, and I hope that someday our world will get over themselves and look past apperences. Heart, Heir

Posted by Mnemone07 May 6th 2007

Good Lord....I feel bad for Emma- how humiliating! It's like telling all the world that she isn't "curvaceous" enough for the general perverted public. Honestly, who pays for a movie ticket just to stare at her chest for two hours? As if that's what the true fans are looking at. At least, I know I'm not. Who gives a doxy egg if she's small or not? And in any case, Hermione is not supposed to be a supermodel, and Emma shouldn't have to be for the freaking movie to sell. Well, that's a hopeless cause- when was the last time WB did a decent job following canon? *snort*

Posted by DanielRadcliffeIsSEXY May 6th 2007

emma looks fine. She's 16 for god's sake. She has them. GOD.
