WB: Enhanced OOTP poster wasn't approved
Recently, Warner Bros. released this promotional poster for Order of the Phoenix film. However, IMAX.com posted a similar poster with minor changes which included making Emma Watson appear more curvaceous.

This alteration prompted outrage among fans, and now, according to The Daily Mail, the enhanced IMAX poster was not approved by WB who said: "This is not an official poster. Unfortunately this image was accidentally posted on the Imax website. The mistake was promptly rectified and the image taken down."

i can barely see a difference if anything they modified the official poster to be smaller...the lighting in the unofficial one makes more sense...

Posted by Slytherin15 May 6th 2007

That is so dumb. geez i mean like thats so not cool

Posted by Horcrux8 May 6th 2007

sick

Posted by hmweasley May 6th 2007

I bet Emma's happy. I would hate that if it was me! It's Harry potter! Why would you do that with a Harry Potter poster anyway!

Posted by DO2the3JEW May 6th 2007

thank god that got taken down. i saw that story other places... it was so... sort of insulting in a way

Posted by knowitall May 6th 2007

Good to hear, doemaareenlekkerpalmpje. Don't be so "visual" the next time lol

Posted by Nimue May 6th 2007

That's convenient, though I wouldn't put it past HP people to do that sort of thing to the posters. Now that I think of it, the distinct difference between the IMAX & WB versions is so obvious that it makes sense that it was a mistake; fans would notice, after all, and naturally Watson would.

Posted by Harriet_Lily_Snape May 6th 2007

Poor Emma...a lot of pervs out there! For crying out loud, it's Harry Potter!

Posted by marchennebury May 6th 2007

DOES ANYONE ELSE NOT EVEN NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO POSTERS????

Posted by Girlgoonie May 6th 2007

I'm glad WB didn't approve of the enhanced IMAX poster....Did anybody else notice that everyone in the posters are wearing their school uniform except Harry and Hermione?

Posted by Nimbuschick May 6th 2007

AHAHAH that's really funny. Poor girl, that's gotta do a number on your self esteem, and we already know that back around Chamber time she felt the need to stuff, wear a water bra, or something from her frequently fluxuating bust size.

Posted by BillG May 6th 2007

Emma, of course, needs no enhancement to look beautiful. The change, though slight, says more about the lack of taste at IMAX than it does about Emma's appearance. One more thing -- what would Hermione have done? We know that she took the opportunity to fix her prominent teeth in GoF. I say "fixed" because her parents, being dentists, would probably have hinted that she could improve her appearance by having her teeth straightened. Surely Hermione -- and her parents -- would be sensible enough not to be concerned about the size of her breasts. Her relationship with Ron would certainly not depend on this aspect of Hermione, either. After all, it took Ron almost four years to acknowledge that Herminone was a girl!

Posted by Dragonprincess25 May 6th 2007

Oh yeah...lets not forget to make a 16 year old's **** bigger then they are WB!

Posted by nachosconqueso8 May 6th 2007

Wow. That's ridiculous. Although I slightly agree with ferdalba. Emma is, in fact, curvaceous, but she doesn't need to be enhanced. I know apparently, it's all about the sex appeal, but Emma doesn't need enhancement to appeal to teenage boys. She is naturally *ahem* curvaceous and pretty. Poor Emma. You're still hot though. :).... someone explain to me why IMAX would do that???

Posted by diagongirlie May 6th 2007

what ticks me off about this is that - by making the change - the WB is in fact confirming that they are using Emma Watson as the sort of "babe" behind the Harry Potter franchise ... and that shouldn't be at all! Hermione was not a babe. At least they took it back.

Posted by diagongirlie May 6th 2007

and, speaking as a girl, there is a HUGE difference between the first and the second poster. It's almost laughable. The IMAX one makes Hermione look so busty it's unrealistic. She looks way better au naturale.

Posted by phoenixknight May 6th 2007

ROFLMAO!!!!! HAHAHA! I don't know about you guys, but that whole thing about making Emma curvaeous just had me WEAK! Why the hell would IMAX do that. They just behaved like immature 5th graders. Do they expect little kids to be like "Mommy, me wanna see Hermione's **** in Harry Potter!" Give me a break, lol. She's always been beautiful and hot, right from the 1st movie, even though i didn't want to admit it,lol. and she got her own NATURAL curves, unlike ppl like Lindsey Lohan. That was really dumb of IMAX, at first i thought it was like that cuz the picture was small. Oh well, i'll still try to see it in IMAX though. Hooray for Hollywood...

Posted by Dragonprincess25 May 6th 2007

No wonder why Emma wanted to walk after the 5th movie. But she came back, I guess everyone has their price, and Emma's was 5 million dollars.

Posted by Mrs_Ronald_Weasley May 6th 2007

Ya i noticed that she looked abit.. how you say.. "curvaceous". Poor Emma though. and yes i do no soem guys that would be looking at this for a long tim.. bloody pervs. Well at least shes got some unlike luna lol

Posted by phoenixknight May 6th 2007

i think both Hermione and Luna are beautiful and pervs should just leave them alone!

Posted by phoenixknight May 6th 2007

oh, and ginny is beautiful too.

Posted by ginnyrox1995 May 6th 2007

i would never have noticed that if i hadn't been told. still, it's the fact that they did it right? lol :D

Posted by axlgirl May 6th 2007

What's with the bitchiness, veronicaS? "I bet if Melissa were goodlooking she wouldn't be so nitpicky...". That's a truly horrible, unnecessary & childish thing to say. I could think of more adjectives, but I'll just end up with a long line of asterisks....

Posted by 1000words_abstraction_ws May 6th 2007

It doesn't make sense that Imax would want to increase her bust size, they don't own Harry Potter. It would make sense that WB would want to decrease her bust size to make it a more "family" film.

Posted by kdyluvbden May 6th 2007

omg... i

Posted by Rictor_Almasy May 6th 2007

Hmm that is terrible. It is noticeable but then I had the official poster as my desktop for about a week so maybe I perv too much lol. Good thing they took it down.

Posted by SianaBlack May 6th 2007

I think the saddest thing about this is I'm not even surprised. I've come to expect big companies to act like sleezy idiots. Seriously, what is the point of that? They think they're going to make more money that way? sheesh

Posted by phoenixknight May 6th 2007

Posted by pat6290 May 6th 2007

im just gonna come out and say it...they arent even that big

Posted by Neurons May 6th 2007

OMG! LOL! R u kidding me? That's just halarious, yea, a wonderful way to attract people to Harry Potter, just wonderful! LMAO!

Posted by ginny53 May 6th 2007

Why would they do that? Emma looks better in the real one. The other one is just, well, wrong and fake. She looks perfect the way she is.

Posted by i_loverz_HP May 6th 2007

Lol how gay! seriously she looks the same as she did in the other ones her face likes all fat though....wow what losers what a waste of time...idiots. and plus emma is freakin pretty she doesnt need to increase anything to become more pretty i lover her :]]

Posted by i_loverz_HP May 6th 2007

and.................some media think oh if shes skinny and has big **** then we will get more money but that isnt true well for meh if emma get plastic surgery i wouldnt like her as much i just couldnt picture her do that so IMAX suck it!

Posted by antonin May 6th 2007

that's good that they're changing it back now. poor emma for them doing that.

Posted by DirtySocks85 May 6th 2007

I don't think that it is as "enhanced" as people think. To me it looks like they just changed the aspect ratio a bit and it happened on accident. Look at Rupert's arm, it's more "curvaceous" too.

Posted by Arwen_the_Dark_Elf May 6th 2007

This is ridiculous. What's wrong with Emma being a little more curvy? Sure, if they had to fake it, I understand, but there is nothing wrong with Hermione being a woman. She's wearing a sweater for pete's sakes! It's not like she's not wearing anything... Some people are too prudish.

Posted by hprocks May 6th 2007

Yes, it doesn't much different, but come on Imax, that was just rude. She looks both beautiful and skinny without the help of Photoshop, thank you. I really hope she wasn't hurt by that...

Posted by Witchy_Woman May 6th 2007

What the hell!!! Poor Emma. I would be so mad.

Posted by Stitch May 6th 2007

WB is the only one who controls poster content. This sounds like an attempt to blame Imax for the poster. What about the Swedish poster that is also enhanced? Are they going to blame the Swedes? The studio photoshops their own one-sheets and then gives them to the theaters. They should at least take responsibility for it.

Posted by Vivian May 6th 2007

I'm glad it's been taken down. Stupid pervy IMAX. She is a *teenage girl*. That's just sick.

Posted by tonitone May 6th 2007

Oh god. That's just.. ugh. Don't they know the fans will like her regardless of her, ehh, being 'curvaceous'? Honestly. /facepalm

Posted by nineandthreequarters May 6th 2007

Manipulating Emma's image was a disgusting thing to do, imo. She'll be even more curvy soon, and then what will they do- Photoshop her head onto Dolly Parton's? Give me a break. :p What they SHOULD have done was spend the money getting Daniel hair extensions.

Posted by Vail329 May 6th 2007

what? ****?

Posted by Vail329 May 6th 2007

what? tities?

Posted by Vail329 May 6th 2007

why would they want HERMIONE of all harry potter charecters to have larger tities??

Posted by i_loverz_HP May 6th 2007

yeah guys dont put **** cuz they will bleep it out ur gonna see stars instead of the word boob Lol. even though thats what they were talking about. oh well.

Posted by Cherrysakura5 May 6th 2007

I did see a bit of a difference between the posters before the news but i thought it was just me. what IMAX did is so not cool!

Posted by AdrianTresk May 6th 2007

There are some people who like to perv away at stuff like that but I went and had a good, long look at both images and have just got to inquire to all those people saying stuff like 'That's sick what they've done' Did any of you actually SEE any difference in 'curvicity' or size? Cos I sure didn't and I looked real closely. If it was a genuine attempt to make her more alluring to us blokes ... WHY BOTHER! Have the film makers not noticed the thousands of restraining orders shes had to have issued to keep away crazed fan boys. We all think she's hot enough in her natural self without CG manipulation.

You know, as a graphic designer, I have a unique perspective when it comes to photo enhancement and digital alterations. Just by looking at the lighting on emma's chest and abdomen (and face and hair as well) the IMAX version seems to be unaltered except for some slight coloration and resolution enhancement. It's the one that is "official" that screams ALTERED at me (look at the flat coloring on her cheeks and strange shading on her face and chest. The shading is not consistent with the implied light sources which tells me someone went in with a burn tool (or something similar) and darkened the parts where they wanted more shading, and a dodge tool to bring up the highlights. It also appears that they cut out some of her curvaceousness to make her look more childlike in the "official" version. Judging by the texture of her sweater, the contour of her waistline, etc - I'd have to say that the IMAX version is probably the more accurate photo. Now whether or not this is true remains to be seen. In my professional and honest opinion - WB wants Hermione to be flat chested so that she is not seen as a romantic interest and so that parents will not worry about their children possibly viewing questionable sexual innuendo. Apparently these parents never actually attended school themselves, for if they had they'd know that more "sex ed" goes on at school than any kid would EVER learn from a Harry Potter movie... XD This further reinforces my belief that once you have children you forget ever knowing what it was like to be a child (or teenager).

Posted by AnyaMarcos May 7th 2007

That's just sad. Why can't they just let Emma stay a kid a little longer? No, they have to make her OMGSHEXY! Not to mention making her look ridiculously thin.
