WB: Enhanced OOTP poster wasn't approved
Recently, Warner Bros. released this promotional poster for Order of the Phoenix film. However, IMAX.com posted a similar poster with minor changes which included making Emma Watson appear more curvaceous.

This alteration prompted outrage among fans, and now, according to The Daily Mail, the enhanced IMAX poster was not approved by WB who said: "This is not an official poster. Unfortunately this image was accidentally posted on the Imax website. The mistake was promptly rectified and the image taken down."

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, doryenc , you sure do have a point. you ARE a professional. I remember seeing Emma from Gof And OotP, her breasts were growing and getting bigger as all natural teenage girls go through at this stage, hers came a little late. The official poster kinda made her chest look exactly like PoA which was like 3 years ago! You mean she hasn't changed until then? NO WAY! That was a very good argument you brought up there, maybe WB is afraid of showing her with her natural body cuz it might offend some little kids. WB should know that HP IS NOT FOR KIDS ANYMORE! I mean GOD! this is the 5th movie, everything now from here on up is very mature and adult-ish, i don't think War is something little kids should be watching whether it's fictitious or not. So yea, if WB didn't want her to show like that, then why didn 't they make her wear her school sweater and uniform like the rest of them? i mean duh!

Cheap PERVS!!!!! it was so unnecessary/....i mean cmon guys leave her alone/.....no need for such unwanted suff

Posted by LumosSolem90 May 7th 2007

This is just stupid..why can't people be who they are? to edit a photo is just stupid...its a Harry Potter movie and its Harry and Voldemort and the whole story that the fanse are focusing on..not curves.. -.- But...I guess the world has some pervo's here and there..

Posted by nineandthreequarters May 7th 2007

What annoys me is that they felt they had to do it. Hermione is not meant to be sexy but brainy, so it's a totally unnecessary change to make, imo. Besides which, they did a lousy job- she looks like she was airbrushed into the picture later- likely as not the actors could not pose all on the same day so it's possible that they were added in later- but it's so... obvious. To make her more voluptuous and amp up the lighting effects, etc. in an effort to make her look more appealing just underscores the effects used rather than Emma. Total misfire.

Posted by elven_eyes May 7th 2007

Emma isn't blantantly curvy, which is why they added more...ugh, what a sick sad world we live in. I bet they didn't approve it. Ha!

Posted by Nevillefan May 7th 2007

I see what they did to her hair now. They made it a little more "out there" and managed to cover up more of Matt Lewis' face where in the regular poster you can see him perfectly. I never would have noticed if I hadn't been told, but I'm glad someone did. Idiots. Emma's perfect the way she is.

doryenc, I agree with you completely, its good to see a few people with some sense here.

W-O-O-O-O-W....BIG...DIFF ERENCE! I tell you, fans are messed up. Why should anyone care is beyond my comprehension!

Posted by Harris May 7th 2007

i'm looking at the two posters side-by-side and it really looks more like they rotated her forward (you see less of her shirt colar on the right side) and fluffed her hair out to cover the missing space. like someone else said, i wouldn't be shocked if WB shrunk her rather then IMAX trying to fill her out...she is years older now and WB's one looks just like the old stuff

Posted by Kayla_Schmanayla May 7th 2007

Well, I guess she would appear more curvaceous in the IMAX version of the film. So maybe it's a marketing ploy for IMAX screens. Something like "See how much better it is in IMAX!"

Posted by swans_rule_the_afl May 8th 2007

Actually, I think the whole situation has been made worse by all the attention it's getting, particularily by leaky and mugglenet posting about it, because now soooo many hp fans will be looking intently at emmas breasts, whereas if IMAX and wb just sorted it out quietly amongst themselves it would be far more dignified. I mean, this would just be embarrassing for emma because of all the attention to that part of her body.

Posted by HPFANTimothy May 8th 2007

THAT IS SERIOUSLY Mean Stuff They Did... Poor Emma =[ She's really nice and therefore I'd say I like her just for that, not for her looks (even though, to be honest with you she is hot) darn you IMAX, your a bunch of meanies! Lol... that's a lame was to say 'your a bunch of idiots.' Honestly, it just goes to show that some people think image is more imporant than personality. PS - I bet you anything that the person who edited the photo was male =] No offense fellow boys...

Posted by HPFANTimothy May 8th 2007

----------------------Act ually I'm suprised to see how bad the media is taking this! They lash out at anything that is soo small (even though what IMAX did to Emma is SERIOSULY tight). I mean, for example: (Not wanting to give away personal info about me) but I go to a Private school in Melbourne, Australia (not naming it) and well... **cough** drugs **cough** And the media was on our back for a whole week. They can seriously get pathetic, and this is in Australia! It must be TERRIBLE in places like the UK and US. Honestly, Emma Watson's appearance shouldn't be 'tampered' with. They should just leave it alone. She must be feeling so embarassed. Poor Emma... ;[

Emma is not THAT curvacious. This is how they (like iMax) to get people to watch their films. Guys in paticular. (no offense to you Guys But it's a well known fact.. Shove cleavage in your face and your all over it) It's unnecissary. I feel really sorry for Emma and I hope she has'nt found out about this. (I doubt it but I can hope) She's a good sport and I'm sure she put up a good fight about it. What some people will do for business *rolls eyes* It's really awkward fro the actress. I'm sure it makes her feel even more pressured becuase now she thinkg her bust is too small. Isn't being a teenaged actress hard and pressuring enough? I mean.. I thought we'd seen the end of this when The images of her Drinking Beer illegally (she was 14 than) were posted on the web but Apparantly not! *sighs* when will people learn to leave well-enough alone... Lissie

Posted by sherryd May 8th 2007

well personally I think the altered version was better then the original for starters Emma looks more real, she looks more human and in the other one she/ along with the others looks completely airbrushed, her hair is thicker, her face is flawess...it's just unrealisitc and in the long run i think thats more damaging to young girls then seeing her with enhanced breasts

Posted by phoenixknight May 8th 2007

I agree with you too sherryd. don't get me wrong folks, but i've been thinking about this abit and Hmmmmmmmmmmm, doryenc , you sure do have a point. you ARE a professional. I remember seeing Emma from Gof And OotP, her breasts were growing and getting bigger as all natural teenage girls go through at this stage, hers came a little late. Posted by Pinkies02 May 8th 2007

Why would they do that to Hermione?! I know those are Emma's top-half... but she's in character and is representing Hermione. We all know what Hermione stands for, and it certainly is NOT padding up your bust size to get a few hormonal boys into movie theater seats. This is EXACTLY what JKR and Hermione stands against! We, as Potter fans, should all be enraged about the enhancement, and glad that WB chose to take it down.

Posted by doryenc May 8th 2007

I don't think anyone is listening, Phoenixknight. I posted an animation on Pottercast's myspace showing a graphical breakdown of the alterations made to the original photograph. Apparently they didn't like it and took it down... at any rate, it's a silly topic and I wish I had never read about it. Nobody listens to the voice of reason, you know? They just want sensationalism...

Posted by hrryptterfreak May 8th 2007

LMAO!! not being mean, but i am thank-ful that they are declining the "enhanced" poster, people are gonna take the wrong message of harry potter, and really, there isnt much difference, also, when looking at posters, the guys dunt exactly look at the girl's breasts, even though i get jealous of emma 'cause she always wit daniel and rupert, (lol) i feel bad for her, cause now she gonna feel real self consius** and really, thats the last thing needed wit girls these days

Posted by omglupin May 8th 2007

There's not *that* much of a difference.

Posted by Vespria May 8th 2007

lol. I guess a bit of photoshop never killed anyone. Atleast everyone seems to like Emma the way she is. Now if she looked like this > http://i82.photobucket.co m/albums/j279/vespria/enh .png I might have a problem. hehe -vespria-

Posted by Flaming_Red_Hair May 8th 2007

Gosh, make me feel Fat!!!! I don't get it, why r they trying to give her curves, It's clear that she already has them!!!! I feel sooo bad for young movie stars, the world is never happy with them, they're always trying to improve them when they are already gorgeous!!!!!

Posted by HPFANTimothy May 9th 2007

Guys, the point is: Some of us may agree that the 'new' image of Emma looks better than the old one, other's don't. But the point is that editing any person's body like that (especially in the area where IMAX did it to Emma) is just wrong and disgusting! You can't just do that, it's the kind of thing that a pervert would do, or someone with a REALLY warped mind. I mean, sure they COULD have used some graphics to maybe make her hair stand out more etc, but editing a place like that is just seriously up-tight.

Posted by andycaro May 9th 2007

Are you serious? Any pictures that are produced to get us to do anything have all be altered...a blemish wiped out here, a few cellulose lines smoothed there...I think that there is way too much going on about this than there should be. Both Imax and the WB are allowed to do what they want to their posters...but I agree that maybe Imax is subconsciously telling us that everything is bigger at Imax. I really like that notion.

Posted by quartz91 May 9th 2007

omg i agree. emma is not that "curvaceous." that picture indeed does her injustice.

Posted by flippinfool13 May 9th 2007

ugh, thats repulsive. sorry emma..

Posted by dontmindme May 10th 2007

Interestingly, no-one seems to have visited http://www.emma-watson.ne t to view the galleries there, so if you go there and look at the entertainment weekly ( gof ) section, you will see pictures that show a good curvy teenager way back when. THEN compare that to the WB and IMAX images that has created this article - intersting, is it not ? The girl has been developing for a while OR WB have been playing with a heavy handed Photoshop session. The last alternative is, that there was packing down there or some photoshop touch-ups done before. Kinda sheds new light, don't it. Who's the bad guy now ???

Posted by kalb May 10th 2007

And people wonder why teenaged girls are so concerned with their appearance. They aren't allowed to be themselves. Pathetic.
