*CRACK* [apparates] Thankfully for those of us who study the covers for clues, GrandPre has justified our actions in doing so! Which brings me to a thought: Why haven't we gotten any clues or tid-bits on chapter titles like we did with HBP? I have a theory...I don't think we will. I believe Jo wants us to experience the last book freshly. Meaning, not giving us any clues whatsoever so as to ruin it for us in the long run. The anticipation is that much greater for us, her fans. I think that would make it a better experience for the last book....just my thoughts on that. :)

When I read the title of the news entry, I FREAKED OUT!!! I thought it was the reasons themselves!

I had the feeling that she meant more general. As in, she wouldn't put glasses on Harry unless it was said in the books. (Well, that's an obvious example but you get my drift.) I've seen a lot of fanart that take leaps, and I took it as more of the fact that she includes canon details and doesn't just put things there to make things look better. I just really didn't get the vibe that she meant more like clues for the plot of Book 7.

I like the UK and US HBP and the US DH covers, but my top three still consists of the Dutch, Danish and Ukranian covers:) (in no particular order, but I'm Dutch so maybe a bit biased.) Check out the Dutch covers on www.harrypotter.nl! click on the pictures...

Cool. I love her art! Harry's eyes look different on the cover, so I have this wacked out theory where Harry looses his eye and gets a magical one. :P Everyone I've mentioned this theory to is like "Um, wtf?" Yeah. But I'm sticking with it.

Can't wait for it to come out. I don't think that even diehard fans will be able to decode it. If they would have been able to, JKR would have rejected the cover. WWWWHHHHYYYY????!!!!

im from canad so we read the u.k version but WOW she does give alot of detail like the 6th book she showed the pensiev and harry and dumbledore wich was their lessons

well, i live in america but i prefer the british covers...... i always get one american and copy and have my grandmother or aunt send me a british one......the cover art on the british ones are way cooler

We get the uk and us versions here in the caribbean but i always buy the us version cause of the art work....yeah and u can see the scar if zoom in...(cant believe i read all the comments :P...bored))

I can't see the scar, but I haven't zoomed in yet so I don't know. But he still doesn't have his wand, and he is looking up at the sky with his hand in the air. I want to know what that means! I'm so excited.

I just love the American covers. I have both version of all the books. (I mean American and the UK version) But the UK editions have actually changed over time. I don't know if they were done by different people but it looks like it. Anyway, I think that GrandPre is just the best.

i absolutely love how she does the book covers.. like how everything on the cover, is something that happens in the book. like in the 3rd book with padfoot in the background, as well as the dementors. i think she's a very talented woman. =)

Thinking 'bout this article I dunno really what's gonna happen with harry but looking the US cover art from Harry Potter 7 I realized one specific detail that it was interesting ¿Why Harry's scar appears also in his hand? it's the same scar that he has in his face. you can check it, it's in the hand that harry has up in the air. look closer. in a high resolution picture of the Us cover art you can notice

I dont like like the British editions much. Ive got 1, 3, and 6 as american and the rest are british.

I bet that the cover of Harry Potter seven has to do with some sort of plot of the story that will be very important to later things in the book Seven. I bet is something that has to do with the last fight with Harry and Voldemort. I sure looks like somebody is trying to chase Harry, so that sure makes me wonder........ but, seriously, i bet the person who is suposed to be chaseing Harry is Voldemort. also, the place that they are in looks like some type of arena... And the people who say, 'oh, people just put that up on the site to make money', you are wrong because it makes perfect sence that the cover to the Seventh Book. A good example is Book 5, on the cover we see harry in the Department of mysteries. I does mean something because harry actualy does end up in the Department of Mysteries. I strongly think this could be very important in the Seventh Book.

Does anyone think that those curtains aren't curtains, but the mysterious VEIL from the Department of Mysteries??? It was on a wooden platform, which could be the broken wood at the bottom of the scene. And it was in an arena-style room, does anyone else think I'm even remotely on track with this observation???

I don't think Harry is being chased by something at all. Notice that he is reaching out for the snitch and that a castle is on the backround? There's a unicorn running towards what looks like the forbidden forest. I can't make out what is underneath the castle though. I hope this all means that Harry goes back to Hogwarts!

But he's wearing a black robe...Mary's drew Harry with a black robe ever since the 4th book, and she certainly wouldn't change that in the last book...it's probably the lighting that makes it look brown.

somebody needs to question the UK artist because i really think they were on some serious crack before they designed the cover. It looks totally demented. We think that harry is in heaven in the US cover... either that or the Collesseum. I love the color though. everyone was expecting it to be red and all gastly, we were surprosed...

oo it will be very exciting to find out what the cover actually means cause i know many including myself have spent hours trying to figure out what the heck is going on in US/UK covers. plus, mary grandpre does an AMAZING job on these covers and i know she has a very good reason behind it all. ugh cant july come any sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmm, everything has its rhyme or reason? Well, what was the reason for Dumbledore's hand to not be black on the cover like it states in the book for HBP? I can go with the reasoning to Harry's wand being in the wrong hand out of convience, I am right handed but will hold something in my left hand if need be. But wihat was with Dumbleore's hand than? Can't wait to fully understand her artwork for DH though!
