Interview with Accio Brain:
1. Why do you play wizard rock?
Harry Potter is a big part of our lives, and so is music. It is really fun to express our love of the HP series through music.
2. What do you personally get out of being in a wizard rock band?
Since we've started a band, I (Brittany) have learned to play guitar and read music a lot better. It's really cool.
3. What influences your music/your style?
We listen to a lot of other WRock bands, but we kind of do our own thing.
4. How long have you been playing?
A little over a year.
5. Do you plan to continue having shows and writing songs even though the Harry Potter series has been completed, and why?
YES! Even since July, we have been writing more songs and doing more stuff than we used to.
6. What is your favorite part of being in a wizard rock band?
I love telling people that we sing songs about Harry Potter, and their reaction. It's priceless.
7. What is your least favorite part of being in a wizard rock band?
We also get negative reactions when people find out, usually from people who don't support the HP series.
8. What advice do you have for potential future wizard rockers?
Don't try to keep your songs too cannon. We had that problem for a while, until we started writing songs about random shippings, etc.
9. How do you explain wizard rock to people who are new to the genre or to people who (heaven forbid) have never read Harry Potter?
I tell them that WRock is music about the GREATEST book series ever, Harry Potter. I then go on to explain that it could be from the perspective of one character or it could be completely unbiased.
10. Is your band completely DIY, and do you think that being completely DIY is an integral part of being a wizard rock band?
We are DIY. We feel that WRock should be mostly DIY. It feels like Dumbledore's Army that way. Stickin' it to the man.
11. Have you ever been approached by a corporate record-label asking to sponsor your band? If so, what was your reaction and if not, what would your reaction be in such a situation?
We have not been approached. But if we were, we would say no thanks, we can do it ourselves.
12. Has your band ever had any copyright-infringement issues, and if so how have you dealt with them?
We haven't yet. YAY!
13. Is there any specific message you would like to share with your fans?
Thanks for listening to us, even though we only have one song on the internet right now. We DO have other songs, just be patient please!
