Blue and Bronze
Check out our favorite songs from Blue and Bronze:
Basic Info:
Interview with Blue and Bronze:
1. Why do you play wizard rock?
I play Wizard Rock because I love Harry Potter and I love music, even though I couldn’t find a genre that I liked for a while before being introduced to WRock. Actually playing it not only gives me a sense of accomplishment, but I get to do two things that I love at once.
2. What do you personally get out of being in a wizard rock band?
In being in a Wizard Rock band, I feel accomplished, as I stated before, but I also feel relieved of stress when I’m done recording a song, or even writing the lyrics to one.
3. What influences your music/your style?
I guess just the Harry Potter books and listening to other WRock bands influences my music.
4. How long have you been playing?
I’ve been singing for…ever, and playing guitar for about three weeks.
But I’ve been writing and playing/recording Wizard Rock since around May of 2007.
5. Do you plan to continue having shows and writing songs even though the Harry Potter series has been completed, and why?
Actually, I started Blue and Bronze (though I am still in a four-person
band called The Rogue Bludgers, and we’ve been a band since around May) this past August, so yes, I guess I’ll keep playing. XD I just can’t
give up Harry Potter that easily!
6. What is your favorite part of being in a wizard rock band?
I just love that fact that anyone (even I) can be in a band in Wizard
Rock. You don’t have to be some rich and amazingly talented person with
connections to a big record label.
7. What is your least favorite part of being in a wizard rock band?
Hmm…I don’t know. Is there anything wrong with it?
8. What advice do you have for potential future wizard rockers?
Stick to it, even if you don’t think you’re good. The only requirement
is to like Harry Potter.
9. How do you explain wizard rock to people who are new to the genre or
to people who (heaven forbid) have never read Harry Potter?
Normally, I just sum it up with “It’s music based on Harry Potter.” If
they don’t know what Harry Potter is, then, for one thing they have
minor issues. XD But I’ll tell them that it’s about witches and wizards
and fighting evil and the good remaining victorious.
10. Is your band completely DIY, and do you think that being completely
DIY is an integral part of being a wizard rock band?
Yes, I am a DIY band, and I do believe that you’re not really wizard rock if you’re in a corporate record label.
11. Have you ever been approached by a corporate record-label asking to
sponsor your band? If so, what was your reaction and if not, what would
your reaction be in such a situation?
I haven’t, but if I were, I’d be as polite as I could to still get my point across, but say no.
12. Has your band ever had any copyright-infringement issues, and if so
how have you dealt with them?
I haven’t had any copyright issues, because J.K. Rowling and Warner
Bros. didn’t write the songs. Plus, I have a disclaimer on my website,
just in case.
13. Is there any specific message you would like to share with your
fans?
I have fans? XD Well, I’d just like to tell everyone to keep reading, Harry Potter or otherwise. Keep supporting WRock, not only because of the fact that it’s about HP, but also because of its awesome other causes.
