Why We Love Jo

The alternative to writing her a letter (we hope!)

JK Rowling has changed the lives of everyone who has read the Harry Potter books - or, at least, those who enjoy them enough to be on this website right now! She is a kind, caring, conscientious, and funny woman, whose personality traits manifest themselves well in the books. Most fans have, at some point, considered writing to her, but are dubious that she would have the time to reply to, or even read, their message. As a result, they give up hope.

We're absolutely thrilled that, on occasion, Jo visits MuggleNet. It's great to know she appreciates the hard work we all put into the site.

This section of MuggleNet is designed to connect the fans with JK. We cannot guarantee she will read anything on this page, but, even if she doesn't, it still allows us to share our thoughts on Jo with each other.

On this page, we will be collecting messages from fans explaining what it is about Jo they find so appealing. If you would like to submit a message to be published here, please read the following guidelines before sending:

  • In your email, please include your first name. You can also include your age and location.

  • Please state in clear terms why you like Jo.

  • Elaborating on the above, you may also include a short message on what the Harry Potter books mean to you.

  • Please remember to proofread your messages; emails with blatant spelling and/or grammar mistakes will be ignored - it just suggests laziness on your part.

  • We understand that some of you would like to inform her of theories you've concocted regarding Book 7, but we ask that you do not submit these to us.

  • Because of the number of messages we receive, we ask that you please keep your email under 50 words. Messages longer than 50 words will be rejected.

  • Finally, good luck and try to be as original as you can in your email, i.e., avoid just saying, "OMG - I like LOVE you, Jo!" Thanks!

  • As expected, we have been inundated with emails, so we cannot accept any more emails until we have updated this page with what we have already received. Thanks, in advance, for your patience! We will be taking more submissions in a few weeks.
