I'm sitting here wondering how best to sum up how amazing this summer - and really, these last years of Harry Potter have been. It's extremely bittersweet to know that the 'Summer of Potter' is already over - it really feels like it was only yesterday we were all anxiously awaiting the release of the OOTP movie. Since then, we've finished one of the best stories we'll read in our lives, held a ton of shows, and met so many wonderful new friends.

I just saw one of my best friends (met as a result of Harry Potter) off to the airport, and that's when my gut started to twist. I walked back into the hotel feeling a little mopey, but overall reflecting fondly on the past few days here in Toronto. The fandom will definitely be different from here on out in terms of predictions and theorizing - but it was when I was in the lobby, and everyone, instead of lamenting, were eagerly planning the next Potter inspired trip that I realized something: For better or for worse, we're stuck with each other, and it's that thought that seems to be eclipsing any somber attitudes as we exit summer and go back to our every day lives. I mean, really, what other fandom do we know of that will find any excuse to get together in a random city and party?
