Potter Profile - Carlie

August 9, 2009

First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
I can't say ive been a Harry Potter fan since day one, I only got into the series around a year ago. After Deathly Hallows had been released. I had always thought Harry Potter was over rated. However my friend Emma pushed the first book into my hands one day during study hall and i could not let it go for the rest of the afternoon, i was reading inbetween letures and during my free time. I basically went through the whole series within a month! It was just so fantastic.

How are you feeling now that the series is over?
Well as i finished DH i felt a lot of things. By the end of that book my feelings were so mixed up i couldn't even tell you how i was feeling! I was first sad that the ending had to come because well for the obviouse reason :there would be nothing left to read!: but then i was glad the series ended where it had because i couldn't imagine another book being written. Now that its been a while since i have read the series i am just so happy to see how far it has come, and how amazing it was to be apart of it!

So, Half-Blood Prince is out in theaters. What did you think?
Well like a lot of people, i went to see HBP at a midnight showing, And even though i hadnt slept all day and i was sooo tired i was veryyyy happy with this movie! the best one yet, and no i don't say that about the other ones. Before HBP my favorite was probably POA. But i thought that David Yates did a wonderful job directing such a complex story and that the trio did such a perfect job capturing the emotions that ran through out the book. I think the MVP(for lack of a better phrase) of this movie was definitely Tom Felton. Props to him, He played Draco so perfectly i couldn't believe how real it all felt. Over all i give this movie a 9, there is always room for improvment (:

What part of the book was left in that you were SO EXCITED to see come to life?
Definitely the Ron/Lavendar relationship. I could not imagine better actors to play either of them. Jessie was soooo great i laughed everytime she was on screen, well pretty much. I also really liked seeing the part when Harry drank the Felix felices, cause that part was just epic, in the book and the movie! i thought it was one of the most hilarious scenes yet!

What did the film makers leave out that left you a little disappointed?
Well i don't like those fans that just pick at every little thing they leave out of the book because well its a movie and you can't include everything that happened in a 600+ page novel. but i have to admit the Harry/Ginny relationship. I mean it was there but i thought that was suchhh an important aspect of the book and they just completely chopped it down. that was my biggest disappointment. Besides the lack of quidditch and Dumbledore funeral.

How did you feel about the Half-Blood Prince portion of the storyline? Were you satisfied?
That is kinda half and half with me. I mean i feel like they did as best as they could with the story line seeing as it was really kinda hard to figure out in the book itself. But then again i wish they would of focused a little more on that seeing as its the title for the movie for goodness sake. I think they could of threw in a little more just by having maybe a few extra scenes in potions class, that really could of made it more true to the book.

After leaving the theater, how did you feel? Did the movie leave you excited, sad, or something else?
This movie left me with a bunch of mixed feelings. When i first walked out of the film i was shaking and had tears dried on my cheeks, like i didn't know what to do Dumbledore had just died! i then got home i couldn't sleep i was just way to excited to even explain it. I kept thinking "OMG i can't believe i just saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince after the stupid 8 month delay! it wa sooo amazing!" that is basically how i felt after that movie was finished. but the 2nd time i saw it, i just couldnt believe how excited it made me for the next 2 movies!

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would just like to thank Emerson Spartz for creating this website, i don't know how i would survive without it! and i would like to mention a few people who have contributed to my harry potter obsession Will&Emma! you guys are fantasticccccc i think without either of you i wouldn't have gotten into the series. The Phelps twinnies are my favorite in the movies, even if they don't have natural Red hair! p.s Mugglecast, everysingle one of you are amazing! thanks for puting me in the show last december! i appreciate everything everyone does for the show.
