J.K. Rowling Took on eBay in Acting on Fake Signed Copies of “Harry Potter” Books

Fake signed copies of the Harry Potter books were being sold on the online auction site, eBay. J.K. Rowling’s legal representative has repeatedly advised eBay that the signatures were fake, but the books have not been removed from the site. J.K. Rowling stated on her site that eBay has failed to take responsibility for the items being sold. eBay blamed the buyers, mostly children who are fans of the books, for not checking to see if the books were real or fake.
