“Half-Blood Prince” Thief Jailed
Aaron Lambert, 20, of Kettering, UK, has been sentenced to prison for four and a half years for his role in the theft of two copies of Half-Blood Prince last June. The bodybuilder later attempted to sell the books to a Sun newspaper reporter, threatening him with an imitation firearm. Following the incident, Lambert admitted to two counts of phoning and blackmailing Harry Potter publisher Bloomsbury.
Apparently, Lambert’s excessive use of bodybuilding drugs had affected his behavior and personality. Nina Graham, defending, said:
It was a dishonest, stupid act showing a lack of foresight.
There was a marked change in Mr. Lambert’s personality as he pursued his body-building interests. He was taking steroids to an almost unsupportable level.
Thanks to Michael and PureOblivion for the heads-up.
