Recipe of the Week: Rock Cakes
This week, we feature a recipe that Harry has had many times in Hagrid’s hut. These Rock Cakes, however, won’t break your teeth. Thank you for the submission, Misty.
Rock cakes are a bit cookie-like because, though you do cut the butter into the flour, they use minimal additional liquid. Rock cakes are small round cakes that have a crunchy sugarcoated exterior and the most wonderful, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture you could ever hope to enjoy. If you overcook them, they will turn out rather burnt and rock-like since there is little moisture in the dough, hence the name “rock cakes.”
