Fan Art of the Week: ‘Childhood Shadow’
Titled ‘Childhood Shadow,’ this piece was painted from a photograph taken at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – and the perspective of the picture is literally from within the castle’s shadows. The artist, Kaden, used oil paints on canvas and was inspired to make this picture because he felt that, as a long time fan of the series, he had been living in Hogwarts’ shadow all his life.
Noah’s Notes: Utilizing variations of grey color, Kaden constructs the castle in the blue sky and it actually frames the picture. Alternating between dark tones, you can clearly see – on the far right tower for example – how Kaden separates the darker from lighter shadows, making the piece more realistic. Great work Kaden!
