Fan Art of the Week: ‘Voldemort and the Elder Wand’

This fantastic piece of art comes from Alex, and he has titled it ‘Voldemort and the Elder Wand’! Drawn with pencil on card stock, then scanned into Photoshop CS4 for painting and processing. In the artist’s own words: ‘I wanted to create sort of a twisted candid of a contemplative and powerful villain with his terrifying new toy.’

Noah’s Notes: In this Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows themed image Alex constructs Voldemort in a powerful yet delicate stance. I like how red color emanates from his wand and casts a scattered glow around his arms, lower back and face to show the shape of his features. Making good use of the smudge tools on Photoshop, Alex created muscle definition on Voldemort’s back as well as deepened and spread the dark color for shading. Great work!
