Tom Felton speaks on cast’s fear of being replaced after “Goblet of Fire”
What would the last four movies have been like for the fans of Harry Potter if it were an entirely new cast? Is this even possible to imagine?
In a new interview, Tom Felton reveals that the original cast had “only signed up for one film“, and they feared being replaced with new cast members after Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was released in 2004. Tom said:
“We all feared that after the fourth film that they were going to get rid of us and start again with new kids. So yeah, we’re very proud to have made it all the way through, so to speak.”
Fans may remember that Tom Felton also auditioned for the parts of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, but in the end was very glad he landed the part of Draco Malfoy.
“You know, no-one could have done the job as good as Daniel, or especially Rupert, you know, comedic genius, but yeah! No doubt things would have been very different. I’m not sure I would have rocked the ginger hair as well as I did the blond.”
