First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
When I was 8, I was in the car and my dad showed me the Sorcerer’s Stone book and said I should read it along with the audiobook he had. I started reading the book with the CD and I loved it and I couldn’t stop reading and I started loving Harry Potter. I have read the whole series over 10 times and I still can’t stop. I love Harry Potter and now I’m currently in Pottermore and can’t wait to read all that JK Rowling wrote about the series.
Deathly Hallows Part Two!! Loved it? Hated it? Thoughts?
I loved Part Two. It was amazing and intense. I was disappointed though at the ending when Harry didn’t fix his phoenix wand with the Elder wand like in the book. But other than that, I thought it was excellent. I really liked the part when Greyback killed Lavender, not because Lavender died, but because it was a character that died that I didn’t know died from reading the book. I also loved the battle between Bellatrix and Molly, I was looking forward to Mrs. Weasley’s line “NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!” so I was glad it was in there.
What were your favorite scenes that were straight from the book?
In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, when Lord Voldemort returns was amazing and my favorite because the details in the book on what happened were exactly like the movie and it was amazing to see it and when I read the book over again, I can picture what it actually looks like when I’m reading it. For Deathly Hallows, my favorite scene from the book was back in the forest again, when Harry’s parents came back with the Resurrection Stone.
What scenes that were changed did you liked? Disliked?
I didn’t like when Voldemort dies. In the book, it says Voldemort died by his own rebounding curse and I thought to myself, “Wow that sounds really cool, I can’t wait to see that happen in the movie.” Instead of that, he just crumbled and fell to his knees. I was disappointed that it wasn’t such a dramatic scene than what it could’ve been if followed by the book. I wished it would have happened in the Great Hall as well with everybody around them in a circle.
The WB says they are pushing hard for DH: P2 at The Oscars this year! What do you think Potter deserves to be nominated for, and what do you hope it would win?
I would like Harry Potter to be nominated for everything but I think Alan Rickman should win for best supporting actor because the Prince Tale in Harry Potter Part Two was unbelievable and right from the book. Also, I think David Yates should win for best director because he did a great job for the last 4 movies but part two was the best, and Rupert Grint for best actor because he was amazing in all of the films.
Now that all eight films are out, how to feel about the movie series as a whole? Favorite? Least favorite?
The whole movie series will always be my favorite. Watching movie one all the way up to Deathly Hallows Part Two is an amazing journey because you see them grow up over the years and is intense with Cedric dying in movie four and Sirius dying in Order of the Phoenix. Harry Potter was and always will be my favorite movie series. Like every other Harry Potter fan, I’m sad that the series is done but it can’t go on forever and I’m just glad it got to eight films.
Do you have anything else you’d like to add? Maybe a theory you still believe to be true, a shout-out, praise for yours truly?
I think Snape actually had some respect for James Potter but was too jealous of him to show it because James was a quidditch player, he was popular and liked Lily. That made Snape jealous of James. If James didn’t like Lily and was nicer to Snape, I think Snape and James could’ve been friends.
