International territories will NOT have “Potter” DVDs removed at end of year
According to a recent article, international markets will not be removing Potter Blu-rays and DVDs from store shelves.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 Blu-ray and DVD sets will arrive on November 11 in the US and will then be removed on December 29th when Warner Brothers places all Potter movies in the vault.
While we are certain you will be able to still purchase plenty of DVDs through second-hand stores and eBay, Warner Bros. appears to be making this “Disney-style” marketing move in preparation of a major release next year with a full Blu-ray/DVD collection set.
For now though, international markets can breathe a sigh of relief, especially since the home of Harry Potter, the UK, will not see the finale on store shelves until December.
For all we have on the upcoming release, head over to our Movies section.
Do you agree with these marketing moves by Warner Bros.?
