“Deathly Hallows – Part 2” sets Amazon Pre-Order record

Amazon has announced today that the finale Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 Blu-ray/DVD has broken the all-time pre-order sales record eclipsing the long-time record of Mamma Mia, which starred Julie Walters (Molly Weasley in the “Potter” franchise).

The sales number for Deathly Hallows – Part 2 more than doubled that achieved by Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and when the announcement for pre-orders was first opened to the public in September, it quickly became the fastest selling film & TV product of all-time with first day pre-orders overtaking those achieved by Deathly Hallows – Part 1 in just five hours.

The finale to the Potter series have also become the biggest selling series on Amazon, with 79% more total sales than second place Lord of the Rings. Here are the top ten series:
