Fan Art of the Week comes from the Pottermore Insider

Today, we will be sharing a different version of our Fan Art of the Week, as we have received an update from the Pottermore Insider blog with some terrific pieces of fan art that was submitted by fans.

Starting today, according to the Insider, Pottermore is going to share a selection of user-submitted fan art, beginning with the moments in chapter one and working their way through chapter seventeen of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

You can see one of the pieces titled ‘The Put-Outer,’ which was submitted by Pottermore user CatPurple111 below (see the full-size image by clicking on the thumbnail). This features Professor Dumbledore arriving into Little Whinging, and using his Put-Outer to extinguish the street lights on Privet Drive. The use of the bright white against the darkening sky makes the illusion of a smokey light going into Dumbledore’s Deluminator instead of a solid streak of light. It’s certainly an excellent piece of art.
