Dan Radcliffe receives high praise from director of “The Woman in Black”
In a new interview with FemaleFirst, James Watkins – the director of the motion picture thriller The Woman in Black – gives high praise to actor Dan Radcliffe for his role in the film as Arthur Kipps.
“I am really proud of what he has done because I think that he has shown a different side of himself as an actor. I think he is in a different register compared to other things that he has done.
I think he holds the film really well, there is a twenty five minute section in the middle of the film where it is just Dan in the house; there is no dialogue and he has to carry it all with his expressions and how he responds through the house.
That is such a huge challenge as an actor and he doesn’t have the other actors to bounce off, which always makes it easier. He is only twenty-three and he has a long career ahead of him – hopefully this is one step on that career.”
As we reported yesterday, Dan Radcliffe and James Watkins will be attending two screenings of The Woman in Black and will introduce the film to the audiences on Friday as the film is released in the UK.
If you are lucky enough to attend one of these screenings, please send us a report of the experience.
