Emma Watson: “I’m a multidimensional person”
In a new article from The Independent, fashion writer Harriet Walker sat down with international superstar Emma Watson to discuss everything from choices she has made since leaving the Harry Potter franchise to some of the little things that mean so much to her to stay ‘normal’.
Sitting down for the interview, which took place before last weekend’s BAFTAs, Emma Watson shared just how much she enjoyed the makeup department and learned so many tips from Amanda Knight (who was nominated for the BAFTAs and the Oscars for Makeup and hair). Emma stated:
“Make-up is actually something I’ve always really loved. The hair and make-up department on the ‘Potter’ films were the people who saw me first thing in the morning and last thing at night, so that space was somewhere I felt at home. When we had spare time on set, I’d do their make-up and get them to teach me how to do stuff. I haven’t had my make-up done for two or three months. [Raises eyebrows] I know! But it’s really weird for me because I used to have it done every day. So it felt like a treat today.”
While filming the Harry Potter series, Emma admits she was kept in a bubble. So figuring out how the real world works has had to be a series of small successes. For instance, she knows how to use a washing machine, cook, etc. so she feels like she can stay in touch with people who do other things than acting or being in the entertainment business.
