Rumor: “Wizarding World” theme park expansion dubbed “Project 722”: possible details revealed
According to a new article from Inside the Magic, the South Florida Water Management District received a new filing from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida recently, describing the detailed plans of several new building constructions (including one large building) , which also included the construction requirements for grading of the land, erosion control and utility tie-ins. The project is named ‘Project 722’.
Although this is still in the rumor stages, we feel confident that these plans are for the ‘Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ expansion that will be located on and near the area of the former ‘Jaws’ area. The rumors connect several artist and designers that formerly worked on the Harry Potter film series as well as the original ‘Wizarding World’ theme park section.

The rumored buildings, as we previously mentioned, could include Diagon Alley, Gringotts Bank ride, a Leaky Cauldron restaurant, and a number of other walk-through experiences. Also rumored is the Hogwarts Express ride to transport visitors from Diagon Alley area to Hogsmeade, but as of yet, there is no indication of such a train ride or train station. However, the detailed area does feature a building that could pass as a train station and connects to the roads necessary to go from the expansion area to the original Hogsmeade area at Islands of Adventure.
We will of course keep you up to date with any expansion rumors or future construction plans that come our way.
