Thought ‘Harry Potter’ was over? Think again…it’s just beginning to heat up
The Harry Potter book series finished nearly five years ago and the final film was released last year. Yet the magic of Harry Potter still lives on inside so many people.
Monday began what is considered to be the busiest Spring Break week of 2012 and the crowds at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida did not disappoint or dispute this fact. The theme park was packed with wait times for Forbidden Journey and Ollivander’s Wand Shop exceeding two hours. According to the Orlando Informer, there was even a wait time for Dervish & Bangs, which does not happen often.
Combine the crowds at the Wizarding World with the crowds now gathering to see the Warner Brothers Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter in Watford, England; the highly anticipated public opening of J.K. Rowlings Pottermore website; the Beta opening of myHogwarts; Ascendio in July; LeakyCon in August; and an exhibition match between the USA and UK Quidditch teams in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, just to name a few of the events scheduled, and it becomes quite clear that the magic of Harry Potter is as strong as ever.
