MuggleNet Throwback: Emerson Spartz Announced Plans to Interview JKR in 2005
It seems so long ago now, but on May 13, 2005, the webmasters from the most popular Harry Potter fan sites, MuggleNet and the Leaky Cauldron, announced their invitation from author J.K. Rowling to conduct a personal interview with her at her home in Edinburgh, Scotland on July 16: the day Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince book was released worldwide.
At only 18 years old at the time, the founder of MuggleNet found himself in utter disbelief as well as pure excitement after he received the personal phone call from Jo to his home in Indiana. This is certainly one of the highlights of his incredibly successful career.
Additionally, the entire Harry Potter fan community was grateful that J.K. Rowling gave this unique opportunity for the top two webmasters, Emerson of MuggleNet and Melissa Anelli of the Leaky Cauldron, to ask the direct and important questions the fans all wanted to know.
