The fandom of Harry Potter is still thriving all around the world and here is just another example.
Travelers were completely caught off guard as dancers dressed as Harry Potter, Spice Girls, the Beatles, and more iconic British outfits, performed a terrific Flash Mob at the Vancouver Airport in British Columbia. The dance was organized by VisitBritain, the national British tourism agency, in order to garner support for British tourism in advance of such large-scale events like the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics.
Queen Elizabeth II celebrates 60 years on the throne, and to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, The Central Weekend event takes place this coming weekend, June 2-5, with celebratory activities taking place throughout the UK and across the Commonwealth.
The 2012 Summer Olympics will be held in London from July 27 through August 12, and the entire world will have it’s eyes set on one of the most iconic sporting venues ever. As part of the Torch Ceremony events that take place around England leading up to the Opening Ceremonies, the International Quidditch Association will hold a Muggle Quidditch Exhibition in Oxford in early July. More details of this event will be released soon, including MuggleNet’s coverage of the matches.
