Dan Radcliffe heads back to the UK West End stage in “The Cripple of Inishmaan” in 2013
Daniel Radcliffe is no rookie when it comes to performing on a live stage. He has previously appeared on the West End of London and Broadway in New York City for his role in Equus, followed by a lengthy role in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway.
Now, Dan is headed back to a West End Theatre for a new role as Cripple Billy in the play The Cripple of Inishmaan. According to the synopsis of the play:
Cripple Billy, orphaned since birth, just might have found a way off the Isle of Aran and a route all the way to Hollywood if he can persuade a small community of Islanders how much he wants to realise his dream.
Martin McDonagh’s comic masterpiece examines an ordinary coming of age in extraordinary circumstances and confirms his position as one of the most original Irish voices to emerge in the second half of the twentieth century. Daniel Radcliffe plays the title role in the first major London revival since its premiere at the National Theatre in 1996.
The new production will be directed by Michael Grandage and is set to begin on June 8, 2013 and run until August 31, 2013. You can order your tickets right here (note: ticket sales have ended).
