Dame Maggie Smith receives nomination for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Downton Abbey’
According to the Huffington Post, actress Dame Maggie Smith – who portrayed Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter film series – has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress with her work in the PBS Masterpiece series Downton Abbey.
Last year, Dame Maggie Smith won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for playing the Dowager Countess as the Downton Abbey submission as a drama series shook up a lot of the acting categories.
