JK Rowling fears leaks on her first adult novel ‘The Casual Vacancy’
Harry Potter author is desparately trying to avoid any pirated or leaked copies of her soon-to-be-released first novel for adults, The Casual Vacancy.
The Harry Potter agents of Little, Brown and Company have set up high security operations to protect the integrity of the book, including advance copies being withheld from foreign countries like Italy, Finland, and Slovenia.
According to an article in The Sun:
Literary agents the Blair Partnership say it is to “minimise the risk of the manuscript being leaked”. They will not receive the manuscript until September 27, the day the novel is published in the UK and US.
Translations of novels into foreign languages take time, and being embargoed until the last minute could cause translators to rush out a version of low quality.
The Casual Vacancy is due for release on September 27th in the United Kingdom and United States.
