MuggleNet Throwback: The 422nd Quidditch World Cup took place today in 1994
The favorites heading into the Quidditch World Cup were the Irish due to their speed and quickness, especially in the Chaser positions with Moran, Mullet, and Troy. However, the best player in the world was the Bulgarian Seeker, Viktor Krum. Could the Bulgarians keep the match close enough and allow their Seeker the chance to win it for them with a snitch snatch? Not on this day unfortunately. The Irish jumped out to an incredible lead and ended up winning the match by the score of 170-160 even though Krum ended the game on a spectacular catch of the Golden Snitch.
