Introducing “The Unofficial Harry Potter Insults Handbook”

Many Harry Potter fans are familiar with the vast amount of unofficial text and fan fiction that has been released by authors as companion works to the series, but this particular book may give some fans pause. The Unofficial Harry Potter Insults Handbook: 101 Comebacks for the Slytherin in Your Life is co-written by Birdy Jones and Laura J. Moss – video producer and editor for the Mother Nature Network, respectively – and proposes to arm the reader with a whole host of Harry Potter-themed comebacks they can use to magically disarm the bullies in their own life.

Besides the 101 insults this book offers, it also comes with a collection of testimonials from witches and wizards who have used these comebacks successfully. Neville Longbottom himself raves, “Before this guide, I was the butt of every Slytherin joke. But after reading it, I feel like a true Gryffindor!”

The book has clearly worked for Neville – but does it pique your interest? It seems like knowing certain insults such as “I can tell you didn’t get an OWL in Transfiguration. Otherwise you would’ve done something about your face” might certainly be useful if a Twihard has backed you into a corner… but will you be purchasing this book?
