Barrie Public Library helps kids of all ages celebrate Harry’s birthday!
Further proving that Pottermania won’t be fading away anytime soon, a public library in Barrie, Ontario, Canada will be celebrating Harry’s 33rd birthday this year with arts and crafts for local children at the Downtown branch.
One librarian at the Painswick branch is going the extra mile to show not only her love for the book series, but for getting children excited to read about Harry’s world, too. “Harry Potter changed my whole life. I’ve read it so many times. I really love it. I want to be able to share my love of reading. I want to inspire that same love in (children).”
Children’s librarian and Quidditch fan Elizabeth Kerr will dress up on Wednesday in Hogwarts regalia and ride her broomstick to illustrate all the fun the sport of Quidditch offers. “It’ll be an interesting adventure, grown-ups running around with brooms between their legs and throwing balls around. It’s should be the weirdest thing people have ever seen.”
