“Potter” Inspired Princess Beatrice to Read Despite Dslexia
According to the London Evening Standard, Princess Beatrice (the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York) did not enjoy books as a child because her dyslexia made sitting and reading difficult. However, once she started reading Harry Potter, her relationship with books became positive. She will be reading a chapter from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (along with Stephen Fry) via video at the Get London Reading Festival in Trafalgar Square on July 13.
In related news, Potter actor Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan) said at LeakyCon Portland last weekend that he has dyslexia and in fact, has just finished reading the series that he was a part of for so long. Check out our recent interview with Devon and actresses Ellie Darcey-Alden (young Lily Evans) and Scarlett Byrne (Pansy Parkinson).
